richard: This is my 2nd purchase of this product. The 1st one I purchased about 3 years ago. Works great! My ac unit is under Pine trees, so it was always getting tree sap on it, and pine needles in the unit. I got this cover, and it works perfect! The sap does get on this cover, but I use rubbing alcohol on it, and it comes right off. The bungee cords that are included are the perfect length and have held up great! I would recommend this product.

Adam 13F, Oregon: As advertised, high quality material, except... A rubber tip on a bungee hook (that protects from scratching) came off during the first install. I suspect that they won't hold up well to rubbing against the metal grate during install/uninstall. But this is a very small asterisk. Admittedly I am nitpicking. The cover itself is thick and durable. In hind sight I wish I went bigger. So if you are on the fence about size, go the next size up.
In order to prevent debris and water accumulation on top of the cover/AC unit. I taped a golf ball in the center of the unit underneath the cover to assist in runoff. ;)

Bill CatulloBill Catullo: Update: Customer Service did get back to me, and is sending a replacement cover. Therefore, I updated my rating to reflect how easy it was to install, and the cover’s durable construction.

The product came with a defect; was missing a grommet on one of the cover corners so I could not install it. I tried several times to reach Customer Service; you can’t hold the line; you have to leave a message and they don’t return your call. Since I need to get my new A/C unit covered, I bought a grommet kit and repaired it myself. The cover was easy to install, and seems very sturdy, but I DO NOT recommend this product because of poor customer service...

Weezie: I recently had to have a new heating and air conditioning system installed in my home. The outside air conditioning unit looked so nice after the mechanics had finished installing it. The next day, it rained and debris from the trees blew everywhere even into my new outside air conditioning unit. I immediately thought, "I just purchased this unit and now look at all of the leaves etc. that are inside of my unit. I started searching on line for air conditioning covers and came across the AC Defender Winter Proof Air Conditioning Covers . There wasn't just one to choose from but quite a selection. The cover was easy to install over the unit and is very durable. I am very pleased with myself that I chose the AC Defender Winter Proof Air Conditioning cover. I almost forgot to mention that the price was not outrageous, the price was right, and I mean right. I will spread the word to my family and friends who may be looking to buy an air conditioning cover and direct them to AC Defender.

striderlestriderle: My AC unit is measured 24 x 24 but I decided to purchase the 28 x 28, and I'm glad I did because it ended up covering the unit just about right. If I were to purchase the 24 x 24 size, the top corners would be heavily exposed. Item is very useful and keeps the rain and leaves from entering the top of the unit. Included bungee cords secure cover to unit. So far so good after a few rain showers already, this item should last a very long time. Much more attractive than a tarp that I used to cover it before. Remember to put the glossy side facing down on the unit. I made a mistake the first time and put the glossy side on top, but after I read the instructions I flipped it around. I highly recommend this product.
