I've used thicker merino wool socks in my hiking boots for years. I was sick of having cold feet at work all winter, so I decided to ditch my cotton crew socks and look for a thin enough merino wool sock to fit in a pair of running shoes, trail runners, or even dress shoes. This brand got better reviews than others, so I tried them and immediately bought another package. They fit perfectly and they're AMAZINGLY resistant to foot odor! They're not super warm, but they're significantly warmer than cotton and if they were any warmer, they wouldn't fit in anything but a boot, so I think they're the best possible compromise.

These socks are AMAZING! I live in the Philippines so I’m used to tropical climate. I’ve traveled to cold places but taking a trip to Iceland in the dead of winter naturally had me guessing what was the right set of clothes to bring. I read all the reviews on Pembrook and ordered a set.
Throughout my whole trip to Iceland where I went on tours to waterfalls, black ash beaches, hikes to wind chill factors that reached as low as minus 8, these socks kept me warm every single day. They are soft, fit very comfortably, aren’t bulky, and the cushioned heel adds to the comfort and warmth they provide.
I would buy this again and again and I will tell everyone I know about it!
To top it all, I love how they kindly emailed me for my feedback even before my order arrived! That’s real personal service. I know they are a small family business but I hope that they grow yet never lose their personal touch and attention to quality. I’d give ten stars if I could! I’m a fan.

These are very nice socks. I originally bought them for hiking and unfortunately was initially disappointed because they seemed to slip a bit inside my shoe. However, I decided to give them another shot and wore them more for everyday wear and even used them as my “base camp socks” while Elk hunting in the mountains and I must say they are truly excellent socks. Very comfortable and plenty warm for being light weight. Definitely would recommend these socks!
