CazzitravelsaloneCazzitravelsalone: Did the test page provided , very thin paper but it's just a test paper. Colors are really nice, lay down nicely , I decided to get this classic edition and not the gold edition as YouTube reviews recommended the classic over the gold, glad I got the classic. They sharpen well I'm also heavy handed with my pencils and these held up well no snapping or chipping.
My only complaint is the shipping quality, I received mine a little banged up which made it difficult to open so they won't be staying in the tin .
I'm happy with them and the colors.

Sheshechic: I bought this to get some replacements for some of the colors in the original 120 set. That collection of colors is much better than the Gold set. I wish they'd offer both again. I won't be buying the Gold set. This 72 count set is a great value especially since the extras (wrap, pencil extender, eraser and sharpener) would cost more than the total price of the set if purchased separately. It's essentially like getting the pencils for free.

Susan Lawson: I love these pencils, I also bought the star joy gold pencils, but personally I prefer the lay down of the classic version to those of the gold.

WiFiedWiFied: After reading tons of reviews I decided to get these Star Joy Pencils. I already have the Castle Arts Pencils and have enjoyed using them to make cards and to color with. I really wanted to try some colored pencils with more of an oil base to see how they performed but I didn't want to spend too much.
The Star Joy Pencils arrived quickly. I opened them and immediately began to use them. They are smooth and a real joy to color with. They especially perform well on the nice paper in my Johanna Basford coloring book. The colors are bright and pretty. Blending the colors is easy and fun. There is also an adequate amount of color choices. After sharpening at least half of the pencils I can say that sharpening hasn't been a problem. I haven't had any breakage. I use a Prismacolor Sharpener that I purchased on Amazon. I did try the Faber Castell Sharpener included with the pencils and it worked fine. Only one of the pencils was broken inside so far. One of the things I really like about these pencils is that when laying down several colors on top of one another there isn't a build up of wax that gets clumpy.
I honestly am enjoying these Star Joy Pencils more than I expected...
