Renata B.: battery opening was incorrectly marked - took some time to figure out the +/-. Battery was not included.
Other than that - good value for the money. Labeled at .2 pounds accuracy. The reality is more like +/- .5 pounds but that's good enough.

wbtinoak: Good quality. It felt lighter than expected but is solid to stand on. Number readout is not particularly bright and can be a bit hard to read if the room light is very strong, but the numbers are large. Instructions are mostly unintelligible, but info you need is here in the Amazon reviews.
*** When we first put in the batteries, it didn't work - the screen didn't illuminate or show numbers. Battery direction markings in the black plastic are backwards; we flipped the batteries and then the unit worked. Our thanks to an earlier reviewer who noted this!!

KT: The instructions for this scale were clearly not written by an English speaker, so they are nearly impossible to understand (and kind of funny because they read like a mad lib). Here's what you need to know... When you insert the batteries, you actually need to flip-flop the +/- ends of the batteries so you're doing the opposite of what the image in the battery holder shows (or at least I did). There's also a button on the underside of the scale that you need to press to tare the scale when you put it on a new surface (it reads differently on nearly every surface in my house). When you tare it, it shows 3 lb. because that's the weight of the scale. That being said, the scale does seem to work pretty accurately.
