Visit the Nuwave Store to get the best Electric Induction Range and enjoy the convenience of cooking with PIC FLEX. Amazon Customer: Induction cooktops are cool. They transmit heat directly into your cookware via the power of science and magnets. One neat feature they also have which almost no other kind of cooktop has is active temperature control. Basically every induction cooktop has it, because they deliver heat to your cookware so efficiently that running without one would be like cooking with dynamite.
As a result, every induction burner has one, at any price point. If you want an ordinary electric burner with one, it's going to cost you 5x as much. So, hello new laboratory burner :D

melissa voss: I bought as a birthday gift for a truck driver, I picked this one because it has 3 wattage settings, the inverter he uses will not handle the microwave, tv, and all and will throw breaker at over 800 watts. This one is for cooking in the truck, and has 600, 800, and 1500 watt settings. Safer than a normal hot plate and easy cleaning when needed, very happy with purchase. Dont fear buying used if supplied by Amazon themselves. The item is new, only with an Amazon box, and product book and wrapped in plastic. I just wrapped up Amazon box with product to wrap for gift. Very happy with!

Daniel Brennan: This is probably heavily used for camping but the reason I got it is for power outages. We have a generator and it kept my fridge, lights and internet on but we were cooking dinner and I had to pull out my rocket stove to finish cooking our pasta a little while ago. Yes rocket stove worked GREAT, but it was really hot & humid outside and sucked sitting by a fire, also it blackened the pot which we had to scrub off which was more work for a normal dinner at home. This allows us during a power outage to start up the generator and continue or start cooking a meal. I like that it has multiple wattage settings so you can cook based on the food requirements or based on just what wattage you have available. Not something you will use everyday, but good to have on hand for camping or during power outages.

samb: This is the second one I have bought. This brand is better than any other. Im in an apartment with an old coil burners. So my son made me a cover for my stove and I have both my induction burners on there. My first one is over 10 years old and works as good as the new one.
Would recommend to anyone with an older stove or for camping.

Kevin: I purchased this product on Amazon before realizing that with a little digging, I could have saved $60 and ordered it from Bed Bath and Beyond Canada. In fact the invoice in the box was from Bed Bath and Beyond so I guess the seller figures a $60 premium as a handling fee is fair. Lesson learned.
The cooktop itself is very good although it does seem to have a hotspot in the middle. I like the idea that you can use different wattage settings as it may eventually be used for off-the-grid cooking.
The pan on the other hand is not good and I would encourage others to use a different pan. I now have a cast iron Heritage Rock frying pan and a decent cast iron enamel coated brazier for slower cooks.
All in all a good product, just watch the price and do a little digging before buying to make sure you aren't being taken advantage of.

NMNM: My first review didn't appear to post so I am doing a horrid job with a second try.
UPDATE: Wow! The level of control on this is amazing. I could take something from "boiling" to "not boiling" by using the +/- with the temperature settings with just a five degree difference. Also let something cook on 600w rather than 900w - still boiled. Amazing.
Items of note:
- Usable "HOT" area in center ring area is a diameter of 6 3/4".
- Max recommended pot/pan size if 10.3". Material in the 3.5" zone outside the inner ring will take longer to heat, etc.
- PIC Flex is about 10.1" wide. 11 3/4" long, and 2 1/2" inches high.
- Does not have an "Off" switch so may (or may not) use Vampire Power.
- Can be set for 600w/900w/1300w, but cooking times are obviously "longer" for lower settings.
- "Exhaust" vent looks to run from "9-oclock to 1-oclock" position. Air seems to exit around "11-oclock".
- "Another vent ("Intake"?) looks to be around the "2-oclock to 3-oclock" position.
- 32" cord is permanently attached at comes out "from the right" in between the two vents.
- Area around the exhaust vent can get on the toasty side.
- Digital thermometers are...

Lynn: Bought this when it was too hot for stove or oven cooking. It helped keep the kitchen cooler in 100 degree heat. Of course, older non-compatible cookware requires a steel plate which I bought for about $10 - well worth it to be able to use the cookware I already had. I would be happy with an all- induction stovetop. I love this! My only problem with this model is inability to turn it completely off without unplugging, although the heat is off, but the power light stays on. Don’t like pulling on the cord.
