Haven't taken math in years so I'm using this as a refresher before going into calc.
On page 72, they simplify 6x^2-12x^3+4x^2 into 2x^2(3x^2-6x+2) which is wrong. This seems to be just a typo because they change the equation to state 6x^4 in the following step.
Not sure if there are more errors later in the book, but if this was my first time learning this material I would most likely be very confused. For books that are marketed as being for "dummies", and easy to read/ follow, they should've been a bit more careful during editing...

When a friend went back to school, she know that she would have to take calculus. We studied together and discovered that we needed a review of foundation math — advanced algebra, geometry and trig. We found lots of pages on line with questions and even the answers. But explanations were harder to find. This book is arranged by topic and we could easily find the explanation or formula we needed using the index at the back and the list of chapters at the front. It often gives multiple ways to solve an equation.

Explains with many examples different types of problems. Good for students home school students and give better sample and in-depth understanding than the so called official books school books. I will say through that I did have to complement this with some YouTube instructional videos when my son got stuck

I enjoyed reading Mary Jane's book than a typical Precalculus textbook, and still learned from it. I read this book as a refresher, and it cleared up a lot of what I had forgotten and the things I made a lot of mistakes doing.
I highly recommend this book for anyone interested or needs to learn, or as a refresher for precalculus.
