Judith R.: They all start out good… but so far I am impressed! I’ve yet to have a short fill and the ease of operation is remarkable compared to the other ‘top’ of the line. I was a bit skeptical at first - feels lighter, has some plastic, but so far it is outperforming my expectations!

Stephen M.: I have been making My Own Cigarettes for 15 years, and the TOP-O-MATIC Used to be My First Choice, now I Found that the current Quality of their Machines went way Downhill and They are NOT RELIABLE, So i have switched to using the Powermatic I+ which I Have Found to Be BETTER THAN the Old Reliable TOP-O-MATIC Machines AS I USED TO USE 10 Years Ago. The NEW Powermatic I+ machine is easy to use and Consistent in Making Uniform Cigarettes. It is New to me ,but I just made a Carton of Cigarettes and HAD NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Excellent , Uniform, Cigarettes. I Highly Recommend IT.

Andrew: I was using the top version of this. The crank was much harder on my wrists and was not filling the tube all the way. This product is much better. The crank goes up and down instead of sideways which is way better on the wrists. I have yet to have a problem filling my tubes. Make sure you have the tabbacco all the way in and you will have no problems. My dad has this one and is why I purchased it. He has had it 3 or 4 years now where my top one only lasted around a year. He has wrist problems and says this one is way better on his wrists and it is really easy to repair if something goes wrong on it. Best roller for your money. My dad and I have had several rolling machines and this is our favorite crank one. They also have a very good electric one. I have their mini as well and it is perfect for travel.

EGeraldhuebnerEGeraldhuebner: Nachdem ich nun schon über zwei Jahre die, inzwischen meiner Meinung nach aber doch viel besser verarbeitete, Top - o - matic - Zigarettenstopfmaschine benutze ( die, bei mir, sogar immer noch wie am ersten Tag funktioniert, obwohl ich daran bisher noch nie etwas austauschen mußte ), wollte ich nun doch einmal dieser - laut Eigenwerbung - " Luxus Stopfmaschine " hier eine faire Chance geben.

Vor diesen zwei Jahren schrieb ich sehr lobend über die Top - o - matic ( Rezension dafür kann gerne noch hier nachgelesen werden ), dabei erwähnte ich auch, das bei der Powermatic 1 bzw. 1+ der Stopfvorgang komfortabler gelöst wurde und sie - WELTWEIT betrachtet - der Testsieger war. Diese vollmundigen Aussagen muß ich aber nun erneut wieder etwas revidieren.

Denn leider, stimmen sie mittlerweile überhaupt nicht mehr. Während bei der " alten " Powermatic 1 bzw. auch der Powermatic 150 das komplette Gehäuse noch aus Aluminium geformt war oder aus einer Art Druckguss Metall bestanden hat, wurde bei dieser Version hier, der Powermatic 1+ ( das " plus " im Namen soll nun darauf hinweisen, das es sich dabei um die neueste Generation handelt ) alles aus Kunststoff gefertigt....

ArtHand7: I purchased the Powermatic 2 about two months ago.
I decided to also purchase the Powermatic 1...got it two days ago.

So I read 8 pages (of fourteen) of Powermatic reviews before buying it; this will be me comparing the two products and my description of WHY there is a "Bang" when using the Powermatic 1 + a simple way to reduce that bang to a gentle tap:-)

The Powermatic 2 is likely more expensive to manufacture; so the company that makes it would IMO have about the same profit margin for both it and the Powermatic 1. I do not think either one is better; they have differing pros and cons that effectively make them equal, but of course different. The Powermaitic 1 has a base size of 5.75" X 8.5" while the Powermatic 2 does exactly the same thing while it is 4" X 5.5" = thus the Powermatic 2 has the same mechanical functions + electric motor + a small circuit board all in a package half the volume of the Powermatic 1.

Note: there is NO "Bang" using the Powermaitc 2; not even a small tap. Thus I feel that the mechanical tolerances are better for the Powermatic 2; superior mechanically, but I have no idea of the quality of the electrical components. The...

The Mad Inventor: Originally I bought the Powermatic 1 injector thinking a manual machine would be more durable and less likely to break with lots less moving parts. Usually the more moving parts you build into something, the more chances something will break. So I thought I would stay simple and durable.

When it arrived, I was surprised how big Mr Manual Powermatic 1 was but that was ok. My next surprise was how hard it was to pull the handle. I could do it ok, but my girlfriend could not as it tired her out within a few strokes. (she is 53 and not real strong) Our habit was to sit down and do a whole carton at a time, but with the manual injection machine, it would tire me out half way through and I would quit for the day. Injecting 5 packs in one sitting was as much as I was willing to happily endure. I am 48 and in good shape. I could force myself to do more, but then the fun was all gone out of it. NO FUN, NO DO.

My next surprise was how easy it was to over-pack it and cause the machine to jamb. Jambs were frequent with the manual injector, about 1 jamb a pack. Not bad but not great. After I got tired of the frequent jamming, I began muscling my way through a jamb forcing it...
