Derick: This was the second pump I had to try as the first on was junk. This one works amazing. The shut off and turn on point are far apart so it doesn’t turn on for an inch of water and fry itself.

It’s heavy so it doesn’t move around in the water.

Carl Jerris: The only thing I use this pump for is draining water from our pool It functions well EXCEPT that the cast iron feet will rust stain the pool plaster. I had a small sheet of plastic I first used to put under the pump but putting under the pump was a pain. To remedy that I used some ABS cement for plumbing pipe to put several coats of plastic over the feet. This took time ( a couple of days for it to dry) but the rust stains were not an option. Problem solved. I also noted rust forming around the circumference of the pump so I gave it another coat of paint.

camra_guy67: I purchased this to address a back porch issue where very heavy rain would accumulate and there was aneed for a sump pump, so at best it was needed to work maybe 5 or 6 times a year. It worked for the first few times I used it and now will not activate the motor when it should. Past its return date and unable to find any place to contact the manufacturer for warranty work, I have to give this a 2 star rating

J Maj: Literally. This is a very good pump. I have a sump basin with two pumps in it and, after 10 years I had to replace one of them last year. This was the pump I bought. I was so impressed that when the second pump died this year (after 11 years) I didn't hesitate to buy another one of these. The difference was I paid about $40 more for the one I bought last year at a big box store. This pump is much quieter than the previous ones that I replaced. A good value through Amazon for a very good pump.

Jeff SitJeff Sit: I plan to use this as a secondary sump pump as backup in case my old one fails, this one will automatically kick in if my old one one day fails that I do not know. Before I ordered, I estimated the diameter of motor side is somewhere between 5 and 6 inch based on the product photos and video, I took the 1-1/2" discharge opening to measure the scale of motor side diameter. I posted a question of asking the diameter of base at motor side, a user old me it is about 5", but the seller gave me very interesting answer, the representative told me it is 7.75", I guess she did not read my question carefully, she just gave me the total length of product from motor side to the discharge (tip to tip). I then called Superior directly to clarify a few things, 1) the diameter of base at motor side
2) can the arm(holding the floating switch assembly) be repositioned to the back of motor side in the same way as the video ? the Sales did not answer me the 1st question, he answered me the 2nd one, but did not give me a clear reply like yes or no, he just stressed that the pump needs 12" diameter clearance for installation.
