SoCal Thom: Batteries are too expensive. These aren't. The packaging is frustrating but once you manage to free them from their plastic cage and insert them into whatever device you're powering, you'll be happy to note that your device works. Haven't had them long enough to rate their longevity, but the price is right for...batteries.

J. Michael Hitt: These 4 packs are designed for retail hanging, something that I wouldn't think Amazon has much call for. The plastic wrapping is so stiff and so well sealed that it's extremely difficult to open. It takes a utility knife that has to draw towards you. This is a tremendous ignorance of basic customer safety. Even with a sharp utility knife, the plastic is difficult to cut through. Mine required inserting a screwdriver into the battery section and prying them out. Amazon knows packaging and could easily just put these in one of their recyclable boxes without posing any risk to their customers. Oh, the batteries are fine (once you've conquered the packaging.
