Potaroma Cat Toys 10.5" Flopping Fish Plush Toy

Robert: I bought this fish toy on sale and was skeptical about it, but both our cats took to it immediately. It's the perfect size for them to hold on to with their front paws and kick with their hind legs. And after the initial shock of seeing it move and frightening them off they came back and started touching it to get it to move again. And it came with a catnip and SilverVine packet which they both loved. Not bad for 10 bucks.

West Coast Shopper: My cat is pretty picky about toys and gets bored with most quickly. This one, however, seems to be a winner that she keeps going back to play with every day. This is a great size for kicking, and despite playing with it consistently since I got it a couple of months ago, the toy isn't showing any wear. The charge lasts quite awhile - generally about a week. Recently, the motorized part stopped working, which was disappointing since I'd only had the toy about 6 weeks. I contacted the company, and they immediately shipped me a replacement. The replacement works great and my cat is happy to again have a moving fish toy! Really impressed with this product and company.

Amazon Customer: My little kitty loved this for about five minutes then got bored because she figured out that it only worked when I touched it or when she touched it but didn’t move of it’s own accord. I wish I had realized that there is an upgraded version with a remote, so you could start the fish wriggling without anybody having to touch it first. I would think this would be much better. But it’s a good size, it’s sturdy and good for tussling with and kicking at, and turns itself off after a minute of two, so doesn’t need to be recharged too often. I think it will amuse her for longer than most toys do!!!

DC in FL.: My cat loves this fish. She hasn’t gotten bored with it. I’m at work all day. I wanted something to entertain and keep her from being bored. She uses it bc it’s never in the area it was in when I wet to work. She plays with it when I’m home too. Really glad I bought this. Battery seems to last and is easy to charge. She hasn’t torn it up with her back feet trying to gut it yet. So I’m hopeful that the durability holds out.

Esther Kim: I had such high expectations for how my cat would respond to this toy. It's interactive, there's silvervine in it in addition to catnip, and it has a 4.1 star rating with over 47K reviews. And the toy itself is great! It was easy to charge the motor and then install it in the toy along with the catnip pouch. And the fish was wonderful about detecting nearby motion and activating its flopping motion. It turns out, though, that I had underestimated how entitled and picky my cat is. He did come up to inspect it at the beginning, and when it starts flopping he will watch it for several seconds. But then he walks away. I tried playing with him using the toy and he swatted at it one time and then ignored it the rest of the time. I thought that he would react to silvervine since he doesn't care about catnip, but I guess I was wrong. Still giving this product a 5 star rating though bc the product itself seems to be high quality and it does what it's supposed to... it's my cat who does not do what I want him to. I reached out to Potaroma's customer service team to see what suggestions they had. Unfortunately none of their suggestions worked, but I appreciate that they tried to help me. And...

Amazon Customer: I bought it for our puppy. He really liked playing with it but he chewed the zipper off and was pulling the fish apart so we had to throw it out. Suppose to be 2 in the box but only received 1. Received a refund.

Motion sensor works well.
Materials feel solid and durable.
Overall a well-designed toy.

The less useful aspect was only a "meh... whatever..." attitude of the three younger cats. Only kept their interest for 10-12 minutes.
