Sasha: Really fun and feel good. … love the characters … especially Sadie … so unlike the highly strung females that are often apart of the rom com genre …. lol and realistic … love Damian too … self cantered with a heart of gold once you get to know him … particularly loved the super supportive family … great read … I have found a new favourite author!

Kindle Customer: I enjoyed this funny, sometimes whacky, office-y romance. I used to be a personal assistant, so I understand the crazy work of assistants and their slave-driving bosses. 😉

Loved the crazy Christmas antics... and I guessed one particular twist very early in the story (🙊).

Amazon Customer: I loved this book so much. The MCs are simply adorable and they're great together.
Portia M is simply fantastic. I've been going through her books like Candy. I can't wait to read more.

Kindle Customer: An unusual premise to this story with A interesting twist. It is a bit OTt but then it would 'n,t be so funny without that. Another light hearted story from the author.

Ruxi N: I really liked this book. After two disastrous readings (not from the same author) I really needed this.
Yes, the ending is a bit predictable, but I liked the writing - it brings a new subject and storyline - I liked the main characters - no annoying, feeling sorry for themselves girls, no too cool for this world guys - and I even liked the characters’ families. Not to mention it had a Christmas part which is a bonus :)
A nice and funny book.

Stock Phrase: Damian Banks is a famous London photographer, with gorgeous models trying to slide into his DMs. Rich, successful, stylish and handsome, Damian is going through a creative block. Sadie Kirke is Damian's overworked assistant who does everything for him. Among her daily tasks: breaking up with each of his girlfriends. The best part of the job is the epistolary relationship Sadie has with the unseen Adam, who seems to share the same desk, but only when Sadie isn't there. We can tell Adam is thoughtful because he keeps the desk tidy and he leaves Sadie candy with his Post-Its. Sadie wants to be more than Post-It pals with Adam; she wants to meet IRL. Sadie snags her dream job, and now she has to find a way to give Damian notice (and to convince Adam to meet up).

Much of this book takes place in Marram Bay (that tidal island in Yorkshire that is the setting of other Portia MacIntosh books) at Christmas time. This is where Sadie grew up, and it's where she and Damian go for Christmas. Why is Damian visiting her parents? That creative block, of course. Also, he avoids spending time with his own family, and he has no friends he trusts more than Sadie. So, off to Marram Bay. Hijinks...

Wokachilla: Is not perfect, but it's good. I like the overall story, but I can't say I totally connected with the characters. I don't think there was enough emotion for me, maybe. It's a love story, but kinda flat. It's from Sadie's POV. It's pretty clear where the story is going from the beginning, but there are like, quarter turns Sadie makes that just lose me. It's probably a fairly realistic story, but just lacked... I guess magic for lack of a better word.

raelene: I loved this so much. It was different than I expected, but in a good way. It was more Christmas-y than I thought it would be based on the description, and I loved that aspect of it!

Sadie and Damian were both really great characters. I loved Damians growth throughout the book - he seemed like a pretty terrible person & boss as the beginning, but it was nice to learn more about him. I also liked Sadie’s self confidence; despite comments about constantly being around models, she liked who she was and the way she dressed/looked.

This was a quick, enjoyable read. I liked that Sadie had more than one possible love interest throughout the book, but still ended up with the perfect person for her.

WyoGal: This novel is a cozy read, especially around Christmas. The trips home for the holidays are nostalgic and make you feel like you’re back home with family, quirks and all, for a good visit.

Problems with the novel: Much of the initial description is told from a distance as a summary instead of as though it’s happening in the moment. It feels like an info dump when we read about Damian’s appearance instead of seeing him for ourselves as he walks through a room. The sticky note swapping also seems to be told afterward instead of as it’s happening. The visit to the island with the creepy guy—what was the point of that plot line?

The last half/third of the book is really the best part. While there are some unknown idiomatic expressions and what appear to be typos, the story is much more immediate and engaging. The dialog is fun, the romance builds nicely, and the HEA is warm and sweet.

There are references to hookers, to nude photos sent by women, to possible murders, some alcohol consumption, a couple of kisses with not much description, and some hand holding. Rather PG.

Holly Markham: I've never been a reader. I think the last book I read from front to back was a Jacqueline Wilson book when I was 13!

I decided I wanted to spend more time on me. So I decided to find a book. I didn't even bother reading the bio, I just went straight in for it. With a funky title And capturing front cover, it felt like a good match. And am I glad I did!

I have not been able to put this book down since I started it. I completely fell in love with the characters. I found myself chuckling and gasping as if I would watching a movie. I have to say, I was gutted when it finished. The story completely draws you in, I could almost feel her feelings towards Damien, I mean, we've all been there. We've all found ourselves in a moment we had longed for, however completely unexpected.

Thank you for the best first read I could've asked for. I cannot wait to read more of your stories x
