Portable Propane Water Heater by Camplux - 5L Capacity, 1.32 GPM Flow Rate

chunkyp: The one star is knocked off because as other reviewers have said, the shower that comes with it pees water everywhere.. I just replaced the hoses/shower head with a normal one and it's perfect.

Our boiler has been down for a month, so I was using a USB camping shower and a kettle, but that gets old really quickly, so when I saw this I had high hopes.

All those high hopes have been realised - it works perfectly, and I've even used it to fill the bath. The house may be cold, but at least we're clean and can have a nice long shower to warm up.

Quahog319Quahog319: Giving it four stars because having two warm showers a day for three months while living in a house that is being built is great. I had this set with a garden hose running off my well.

It hardly uses any propane. Maybe 1.25 gas grill tanks in 3 months with two showers a day. It was definitely nice that I had my backup tank right there as the first one ran out when it was in the high 20s. Brrr.

Biggest gripe is the thing leaks water everywhere. The fittings can be fixed with simple teflon tape, and the showerhead was easily replaced by a cheap one from elsewhere, but why does this thing leak so much? It leaks water so much it gets in the battery compartment.

Other gripes:
1. It does not get hot, but I knew that going in. Certainly warm enough to enjoy even when it is below freezing.
2. It does not drain water completely from the heater. So even if you disconnect the hose and the showerhead, you have to bring the unit inside to prevent it from freezing. This gets annoying. You can see my footprints in the snow pic from me dragging it back outside to set it up.
3. The gas regulator seems finicky. I had to disconnect it several times through my months of...

Puri: Funciona perfecto. Agua caliente instantánea. Funciona con baja presión de agua. La instalación muy sencilla, conectar el gas y la manguera de agua. El regulador que trae es de propano, yo lo cambié por uno de butano que compré aparte.
Muy contenta con la compra, falta valorar duración, pero en apariencia no creo que dé problemas.

Kimberly walker: The media could not be loaded.  We bought 75 acres in KY. We currently use it is our family vacation with 4 miles of ATV trails. So ofcourse we want to shower. We currently have water on the property. We bought a 9×12 shed and turned it into our bathroom/shower area. No one wants a cold shower. This heater has been outstanding. We have 2 different types before but couldn't get water warm enough . This heater is excellent. Putting it halfway or just below is PERFECT. my daughters were quite happy. Anything more than half way could actually burn you becausr this things heats alot. And its fast, no waiting around. I might even buy a 2nd one for future to just set aside if needed. We love it!!!!

Mrp: Only fired it up to try it, wirks well off demand pump but goes through 5ltrs per minute maybe try smaller capacity pump for longer showers if water is in short demand , also works fantastic off garden hise pipe and unlimited showers then available.. better than shower in bathriom on mains water...going to fit into rear door of van for storing and hang on rear door fir shower when camping.

Robert's AccountRobert's Account: I purchased this last July, worked great, and in the fall I put in the house to store it from the elements. I pulled it out last week and there is massive water leaking (see pics) so I reach out to Camplux for help. Camplux Technical Team email me and say they will not cover my part because of, "....freeze damage."

They didn't care what I said, they would not replace the part. But they did send me a link to Amazon for the replacement part, and it is on BACKORDER. So now I have a Camplux that is NOT operational, I'm out $180.00 and if I want to use it, I have to order the part from a company in China and it will arrive at the end of July.

If you're open to spending almost $200 for a disposable product with NO technical support, this is the product for you. One summer of use and then plan to throw it away because Camplux won't be there to help you resolve any issues.

UPDATED 6-26-23: Camplux Customer Service went above and beyond to overcome the shortcomings of their Technical Support team. They immediately jumped in, handled my situation, and instead of sending me a part, sent me an entirely new unit. I used it last night and I honestly can say I'm impressed!...

Mlwdragons: I rarely write reviews but I use them often so …. This product is wonderful. Note the date of reviews you are reading. I was reluctant to purchase after reading reviews that stated you needed adapters and other supplies to hook this unit up in the U.S. I was looking at older reviews. The company did a great job fixing earlier issues. The unit now comes with everything you need to hook up and operate the unit in the U.S. and they added a switch on the shower handle ( note there is no pilot light to start the unit. Switching the water on, using the switch on the showerhead is all you need to do, once you turn on the gas and water since the drop in pressure as the water flows through the unit activates the piezoelectric ignition. You will hear the click of ignition and then the flame ignite). Our home water heater broke and we were without hot water for days and got fed up with going to the gym/friends’ houses to shower.
