catherine: I'm sad this travel potty came broken! The packaging looked as if it was a previous return the way it had been re-tapped and the box had wear and tare. The potty itself was the perfect height and really easy to open and close again but the green plastic tops of the legs were broken on one side (the plastic was snapped at the seams) and with the risk of pinching my toddler or getting a cut we've sent it back.

Key: If your hesitant on buying this because of the price, JUST BUY IT! I bring this with me everywhere because my 2 year old son won’t stand up and pee when we’re in public. Also due to covid, you can’t use public washrooms. So this is perfect. Whenever and where-ever he needs to use the washroom he can. I don’t even use the bags. I just set it up and he goes and then I wipe it down with a baby wipe. Works perfectly for us!

No: This travel potty has come in so handy for us. I bought it when I was potty training my two-year-old daughter in case she had to use the bathroom and there wasn't one nearby and also just to continue potty training and not have to rely on training pants while we were out. We live so far away from everything so we really needed to think about having a bathroom available (long drives everywhere!). She's three now and fully potty-trained, but we still use it for times we're away from bathrooms. We went on vacation recently (a long road trip) so this definitely got its use during our vacation alone.
Pros:
1. Portable - This potty can be folded up when it's not in use (kind of looks like a briefcase, including a handle). That makes it easy to carry and easy to store in a car, luggage, etc.
2. Small enough for easy use in vehicle - My daughter is three now, and I drive a Prius, so both my daughter and my car are small. This potty can be placed in the seat of my car or even the floorboard and can be used fairly easily by her.
3. You don't have to buy liners for this. Instead it comes with some Ziploc-type bags (gallon storage bags) that you use as a liner. That means you...

Sarah: Well it might be too early to write a review but I just received my travel potty and I think I made a smart purchase! I like the way it was packaged when I showed it to my 3 year old son, I told him it was for him and he was excited to open it the box is really cute and inviting. He immediately wanted to try it out and we did. I purchased the Kalencom Potette Plus Liners with it. But I feel any large plastic baggy will work or if your real crafty you can put a bounty towel on the bottom of bag and viola you got your own liners.
Anyway I had no problem setting it up it took me less then a minute, my son went and I toss the bag out right away which I thought was cool. The only thing was .. I had a hard time at first figuring out how to close it. To close the potty you have to find the words embedding on the sides that say "Push" it took me a few minutes to find them. I know it seems silly but I feel they could of told us where to locate them, maybe made them a brighter color or gave directions?? But once I figured it out I had no problem. I think if his grandma was babysitting and had to take it with her I'd have to show her how to open and close. And it is plastic so I...

Amber: we've only used it at home and have only used the bags that came with it. will probably update once we've tried it outside the home.
wish it had a pee guard in front. daughter gets pee a little on the seat but so far hasn't gone on the floor. would prefer to have a cover on the back because when it's folded up, little plastic parts stick out to scratch you or your toddler carrying it. the underside of the seat with the plastic that you can put in ahead of time also gets exposed. another problem is the pee may get underneath the seat. not a lot and you can just wipe it with disposable wipes.
i've had no problems with the side containers like others have complained. they open just like how you unlock the legs and open the seat to replace the bag by pressing inwards. It just doesn't have the label like the others. To close, you just press it in again until the locking hook has gone in. with a little wiggling, the side containers fit a brand new pack of costco flushable, disposable wipes.
UPDATE:
We've used it outside the home. Used it with ziplock freezer bags because those were the ones available in costco. I think it was a mistake. The material is too...

Dev: Absolutely love the product. Sturdy, very convenient. We keep it in the car, as it is super useful for long drives, eating out, swimming pool visit. I won't hesitate to buy it as a gift for other moms. Definitely would be useful for any toddler who is going through potty training or just been potty trained and hasn't yet developed complete control of bladder. Love it!
