Sound quality however is great!

Jeff Adams: The boom is a little flimsy, but doesn't affect the sound quality at all. I have a $350 Countryman, & have used several of these over 20+ years. This cheap thing does just as good! I am not a big fan of most Pyle products, but this really is well-made. Why pay more than you have to?

Ian ShawIan Shaw: Low visibility headsets will always present a durability challenge. Key to owning them is having a spare on hand for when one breaks (And they will break. Eventually. Regardless of manufacturer. It's only a matter of time...). These units are inexpensive enough that keeping a few spares on hand counts as cheap insurance. Several have mentioned 'unworkable out of the box'. My strong suspicion is that they wound up that way when the little pop-filter was pulled onto mic element. Pro tip: Pre-widen the open end of the pop filter with the end of a cheap retractable pen first before trying to get it onto the element (see photo). Then very carefully pull on the pop-filter over the element while not touching the tube/wire coming out of the back of the element if you can help it. It may help to get one side started then pull out on the other side to get it over. It can be done, but it can be frustrating too. I was able to get the socks on four of these without breaking one, but its very easy to see how that could happen. Once on they function fine. The signal is a little hot, but I'd rather have that than not enough signal. The mic's effective 'boom' length and shape are not really...

Audioman751: Our ministry owns about 25 of these and we use them for everything from singing to speaking to live drama. I have used these alongside Countryman E6's and I have not been able to discern the difference. Pros might be able to tell some differences, such as pick up pattern etc. but to my ears they are the same, and I have pretty good ears. In my opinion these are a hidden treasure. Most Pyle products aren't worth much, according to reviews, but these seem to be the gem.
They are very "hot". I usually set the gain pretty low on the belt pack - 0 db on Shure systems, -30 db on Sennheiser. I have used theses on 300 series Sennheiser systems and several different lines of Shure systems. The sound quality appears to depend more on the system than these mics. On a Shure PGXD system, the sound is crystal clear, and I mean crystal. In mid show I had to switch a sennheiser system from a Countryman E6 (bad cable) to one of these with a Sennheiser connector soldered on. Sound quality did not change.
Some of the mics we own are several years old and have been through several live dramas and other tough uses and have seen there share of abuse. Only two have failed. One broke while...

Michael A. Mann: Great inexpensive alternative to Countryman. I buy several and replace as the cord wears out. Usually every 2 years. The sound quality is great and saves an enoumous amount of money over the big brand-name prices.
