Damon Miller: Maybe I have an immune cart. This spray does not deter him after several sprays on he furniture

tessie: I had high hopes for this, but it did absolutely nothing. I sprayed my brand new couch with it , and literally within 2 minutes my cat walked right up and scratched it. Did not even seem to notice the spray. Buyer beware.

Tinker Jet: It did not stop scratching or deter the cat from anything it was sprayed on.

Jennifer Marie: We bought new couches and immedi7behan spraying them. Our cat really destroyed the old couches. It's been several months, and she hasn't put a single nail near them.
I am very disappointing to see the massive price hike in this product. I believe there are similar products with identical ingredients, that do cost less. Going from under $25 to nearly $40 is awful.

Unison: I purchased this expecting that it wouldn't work, but for the price I figured it was worth a shot. I'm glad I gave it a chance because it definitely works.
I bought a couch and a loveseat shortly before adopting two kittens and very early on I discovered that my furniture was likely to be ruined. For the first year and a half, I had couch covers on. I covered the remaining uncovered parts with hard plastic protectors with adhesive on the back side. This protected my furniture but it was pretty ugly. Not only that but the one or two places I wasn't able to fully cover would eventually get discovered by the cats and there would be pulled threads. And every time I decided to try removing the cover, within minutes one of them would start digging their claws into the exposed fabric.
So I ordered this spray for when I eventually removed the covers. When it first arrived, I sprayed some onto a paper towel and let the cats smell it. They very clearly disliked the smell, initially curious about it and then running away at the sight of the towel. I was concerned that the spray would be too effective and that they wouldn't even go in the room once I sprayed the furniture!...

Amazon Customer: My cat definitely does not like the smell but it doesn't do much to deter her. It does not stain fabric. It works, you would just have to douse your furniture in it basically daily for it to be effective for my cat.

Damien Kral: So I bought this back in September to stop a kitten of mine from destroying a lampshade. The Spray worked and the Cat stopped scratching for ~4 hours or so and decided to just stare at the lampshade in question before starting again. The directions were pretty effective in making sure that my cat didn't destroy the lamp shade (He'd give the lampshade a stare ~3 times a day before I'd spray it and then he'd lose interest) He eventually lost interest in the lampshade completely. He's since moved on to the back of my computer chair, this is where the spray has been less effective. It still keeps him off the chair for a while but as soon as 6 hours are up he'll start trying to scratch it. Not sure what causes that but it's clear that this spray does depend on the material that you use it on.

AR: Well, it hasn't 100% stopped the scratching but it has massively helped. We make sure that our cat sees us spray. We keep it nearby and if she starts scratching furniture we jump up and spray this on the sofa where she is scratching (never at the cat and always away from her eyes/mouth). It feels a bit like we're marking our territory and saying "no, this is ours, not yours!". She hates it and now runs away just at the sight of the bottle and then kind of huffs around grumpily glaring at us... But scratches about 90% less than she did before. She seems to be learning which things she can scratch (she now has 3x scratch posts!) and the things she can't scratch. We always reward her when she uses her scratch post (we leave treats at the top of it) and spray this when she uses the sofa. Personally I don't mind the citrus odour. It smells like citrus cleaning products. It doesn't smell after a few hours.

B. Sudyk: This product smells like citronella and the scent is extremely strong. I would not use if expecting company and don't think I would want to stay in my condo if recently used. Did not seem to stain my fabric. I tried Claw Withdraw since my cat started scratching my couch as soon as I adopted her even though I had a huge scratching post she can climb and other products for her to use. I used catnip to attract her to the appropriate objects but she would eventually make her way back to the couch. Stubborn. I refuse to declaw as that's animal cruelty. Unfortunately, this spray didn't work for my cat. She didn't care one bit about the smell. It's back to Sticky Paws as that's the only thing that seems to deter her.

ryan s.: This product worked at first, our kitten did not like the smell and left the furniture and rug alone after spraying. She now does not mind the smell and it’s not much of a deterrent. I’m rating 3 stars because it does have a pleasant smell, it doesn’t leave residue on my furniture, and it did give us some reprieve for a few weeks. I do think it’s very dependent on the cat if it will be successful over time.
