Pete Wanner: Easy to put together, not so easy finding the adjustment part, but goes around in circles, big circles or small circles, hence the adjustment part. The circles never go up the sides, and never reach the centre so the pool looks like a tire with middle all gunky (sorry for the technical terms) and the outer circles fair clean
And does not work under a cover, so tire- looking and cold

Old dog: I have owned an above ground pool for about six years. It is 21’ in diameter and 54” in depth. When I purchased the Shark Pool Vacuum, it kept hanging up on the stairs and/or the stair pad where it extends beyond the ladder.

I rigged a floatation device that fits under the stairs with a 10 foot tube. That connects to a 120V compressor for pool toys and plugged into a GFCI receptacle. When I need to vacuum, I float the stair assembly up to where I can tilt it onto the deck. I then use snake tongs with homemade tear avoidance material. Remove pad with tongs and vacuum. I used a Flex Seal Product to “soften” the tongs.

It would have gotten five stars if this old half cripple didn’t have to execute workarounds. Outstanding product for round, obstruction free pools.

Julie: Love this Kreepy Krauly! We have an above ground pool and this thing works great too get all of the heavier objects which sink to the bottom! It comes with every accessory you could possibly need including a vacuum hose. The vacuum hose also comes in segments so you can adjust to the appropriate length which is important because if you get a very large 35 ft hose at the Big Brand hardware stores and you only have an 18 ft above ground pool the hoses way too long and it just gets tangled up! You only need enough hose to reach the opposite edge of your skimmer and that is it!

The only downside is we also have aftermarket stairs which has a larger hole towards the back side of the steps which this shark tries to go into but when it turns around to go back out the opposite direction The tail fin gets stuck and the vacuum ends up getting stuck in a place so I need to block off the back section of our stairs to correct this issue.

It took some time to get the vacuum dialed in using the additional diaphragm, on setting #2 & this thing scoots through the water quickly. I have an Intex pool sand filter setup and added an aftermarket Hayward skimmer kit so I can use the...

costcoshopper: I use this on my 22ft soft sided pool and it works great! We have it with the small pump that came with the pool currently, seems to have enough power to keep it going. I rinse the filter when it starts to slow down but now that we have been using it regularly it hardly needs it. I also bought an inline skimmer which helps immensely and catches all the leaves and bugs! We also have some ripples in our pool floor, Shark seems to get over or around them fine. Next year we will be sure to have a super smooth floor and a sand filter and this guy will be a lifesaver.

stahl0417: I love this little guy! Its advertised as an above ground pool vac but I've used it for my clients inground pools. With slight adjustments to the vac settings and length of tubing, it will cover most of the pool.

I own a pool maintenance and repair company for over 6 years. One of my clients was looking for a decent vac that didn't cost a lot.
I personally was using the big brother vacuum to the shark. It's called the Dorado by Pentair. It has an inner mechanism that will help the vac get unstuck from the corners or main drains. However, it costs north of $450 and still occasionally gets stuck.

So, we decided to give the shark a try. The first week after the initial setup, I quickly realized he was getting stuck on the main drain cover and not releasing itself. This is the main complaint that I see in the reviews.

To correct this issue, I added two extra tubes to extend the length and I changed the setting to the smallest circles. That was our winning combination. My client and I watched it make ten loops around the pool without getting stuck before I left his house.

So the info to take from this... most suction side vacs that I have came across,...

It does what it's supposed to do.
I have a 15 ft round above ground pool with a bottom drain and big stairs. It vaccums the bottom in about an hour! There are some difficulties though. It does get stuck under my stairs at times, but half the time it comes out by itself..
At first it wasn't moving at all.Then I realised I had not closed the bottom drain! SO there wasn't enough suction for it to move. Then I had trouble with water in the hoses. I still struggle with that at times, i use the water return to push water into the hoses and through the Shark. but it's tough to hook the hose to the skimmer without losing water and all... then the pump seems to stall for awhile.. trying to suck water in..
I like that the Lil Shark is not heavy. I have enough hoses for the length of my pool, i have two 3 ft sections left. It isn't perfect, it roams around at random so at times, it misses some spots. And it fights against the current near my stairs.. I'm glad it doesn't get stuck around the bottom drain, it just roams around it and cleans it well. I think it is worth the money. cost me 224$ with taxes and free shipping. It looks sturdy...

AmazonCustomer: Seems to work well. Sure beats going out and cleaning the pool 2x a week. I bought this item knowing that it doesn't clean the pool 100%, but as long as it gets me 80+% of the way, it's a huge help.

When cleaning, it can be a little deceiving, as it doesn't look like it's cleaning very well. It picks up the loose stuff easily, but the areas where there is more stubborn dirt/grime, it certainly doesn't get it on the first shot. If you come back 4-6 hours later, it surprisinging gets most of those stubborn areas with its multiple random passes. Keep in mind thought that it's certainly not perfect.

I've had an alge problem in my pool and sucking up the dead alge was easily a 3-4x a week vacuuming effort. I set this little guy loose and the majority of the work is done while I'm at work, which leaves us more time to enjoy the pool rather than curse it's existence.

One thing to note is that this version of the cleaner does not clean the pool cove area. I have a sand cove in my 21' AB which is approx. 6-8" in height. When the Shark reaches the cove, it climbs it slightly and then proceeds to turn around and switch directions. If you have dirt and grime on the cove...
