Craig P.: Ample amount of material for a screen door, (large piece left over which may do a window). The spline tool worked well and even though the screen was folded, there were no creases once the screen was lightly stretched and installed.

todd: Everything you need to replace a window screen. There were no instructions in the box but it is pretty straightforward what you need to do. Everything you need comes in the box except the utility knife to trim. Will definitely purchase this again when I need to repair more screen windows.

Reagan: I thought I would give it a try to re-screen my window screen myself and initially it takes time but I did it. And if I can do then anyone can since I always find ways to screw things up. Subsequent ones will probably be faster and easier. There are no instructions so you have to go to Youtube to get the details on how to perform this procedure. The screen was black and it looked like it did not match what was on the window originally but when I put it up in the window frame, it looks like it matches my other window. You really cannot go wrong with the fiberglass over aluminum but you still have to be careful in not making holes in the fiberglass when putting the ribbon in and cutting the extraneous screening. I saved about $35-50 and I still have enough material left for about two more average size screens. Go for it.

Teshara Palmer: This screen replacement kit is very easy to use kimda smelly tho. No instructions came but it's one of those supper simple no instructions needed kinda job. Just took some figuring out to get the screen tight. And be careful if you happen to run the tool off the rubber a bit and it rubs the screen againts the frame it will cut the screen. I did that a few times by accident I hope it doesn't cause problems later. But that's user error not product problem. Over all great quality.

KB: My screen door was broken, and the door guy asked for $1500 to replace it. I saw no reason it cannot be repaired, so here I go... So happy that I found this! It is easy to use and seems like it will last for a long time. Maybe I can even use it to make money: What about $150 to fix your broken screen door? lol

philippipi: I decided to re-do my patio screen door and was searching for screen and tools online. This is exactly what I was looking for. It came with all the materials and tools needed for the job, and the size of screen is perfect. First time on this but it took me about half an hour to get the job done. The wife and kids said now I am a real handy-man. BTW you cannot find same products elsewhere at this price, plus the free one-day shipping.

Andrea L.: After many months of suffering a damaged screen, which allowed dozens of flys to access my kitchen (gross), I found this product and bought 2 (1 being a back up). Firstly, I was amazed that it arrived about 36hrs after purchasing (and in a cute little gift box!). When I removed the mesh I was mildy disappointed that it was not presented in a roll (like I was expecting) but folded into a neat pile. I left the mesh unfolded on my washing line for several hours in the hopes the creases would drop out (they did not) but I need not have worried because they are nowhere to be found now that its up!
This is my first attempt at replacing mesh myself, after 2 youtube tutorial videos, I was good to go! The tool worked great and I was able to reuse my old spline. I used a small craft knife to slice off the access mesh and approx 30mins later, job done and it looks great!
Hoping it will weather fairly well with pets and kids but I've got a back up kit just in case! You can't go wrong buying this kit!

flyboy: Our dog left scratch marks in our screen door. I was completely unaware that the screen could be replaced, so I headed to the big orange store to buy a new screen door. $50 later, I was back at home and recognized that the very cheap door did not fit like the original. I headed back to big orange and replaced the door with a higher end (still junk) screen door for $75...only to have the same result as the first door. I then (after the fact) realized that the original screen door was more narrow (as was the channel) that typical doors, so I decided to research viable repairs...and learned that it's actually pretty easy. Bottom Line: I found this kit that includes the spline and spline tool as well as the screen for only $18...a great investment, but you only have one chance to get it right.
Overall, this was a very easy and quick repair and I saved a ton of money in the process. However, I did come close to messing this up. My initial use of the spline tool (larger roller) tore a bit of the screen material as I got started seating the spline. Fortunately, I had room to slide the screen over thereby avoiding the torn screen area. On my second attempt, I changed my technique...

West Texas: I purchased this kit to replace the old deteriorated screen on my front screen door. Besides the roller, my kit came with a brush to clean the screen. The brush is a dual tool and contains a plastic edged tool that can be removed and used to press the spline into place. The tool is soft plastic and so doesn’t work very well, but the roller can’t do the corners so it came in handy. It occurred to me later that a butter knife or small screwdriver would have probably made the corners easier. There is no tool to help remove the old spline, but it’s not necessary. I simply used a tiny screwdriver to pop the end of the old spline up and then pulled it all out. Although the pictures show a rolled screen, mine came folded – just as the description said it would be. Because of the folding, the screen does have some creases in it, but these are not sharp creases like those in a pair of freshly pressed slacks. The creases are very light and disappear once you have the screen properly installed.
I’ve done a lot of construction and renovation around the house, but this was a job I had never done before. I was dreading it and procrastinating, but I found I needn’t have...
