Toisach: This is a great set for anyone, beginner or otherwise. The materials are of surprisingly good quality for the price, including charcoals as well as graphites, tortillions, and erasers. All you really need is something to sketch on, and something to sharpen with. The included sharpener is going to cause more frustration than it is worth. Use a craft knife and sharpen them yourself and you will be MUCH happier.
