FiestyBerry: Love it and so does my shark obsessed toddler. Fun illustrations informative content. Sturdy cover and binding should last us a long time. I’d say this book is suitable for a wide age range it’s not so in depth that a small child won’t enjoy it (even if it’s a page or two at a time) but packed with tons of fun facts. Can’t wait to purchase more in this series! These are books that will last us a long time.

Shell2585Shell2585: My animal loving 7 year old told me he wanted to learn more about Sharks and so I started searching and came across this AWESOME book. I was a little hesitant about the price, but since it was hardcover and the artwork looked gorgeous I decided to order it and also the Octopus one by Owen Davey. They got here quickly and when I opened them- OH MY WORD the artwork just blows me away. It's Gorgeous! And there is the perfect amount on info on each page- enough to give you plenty of information for your experienced readers but not too much to overwhelm a younger reader. I love how the information is split up into little sections all over each page and how each 2 page spread covers a different topic. I can't wait to order the rest of Owen Davey's animal books in this series and I hope he makes more! I have 5 kids- my oldest are 12, 11 and 7 and I think all 3 will very much enjoy reading this!

iiiireaderiiiireader: My four year old grandson is very interested in Sharks (it began with watching some Disney movies with sharks in them.) He wants to know all about them. When I was his age, I had a lot of interest in science books and my mother made sure we had a good number of coffee table books on various subjects to look through each day.

When I saw Owen Davey's books, I knew that these would be perfect to have on hand for my grandchildren to look through with me when they come to visit once a week. I started with this book and have since picked up the others in his series (“Mad About Monkeys” and “Crazy About Cats”) as those are other animals my grandchildren both enjoy (especially those monkeys!)

The books are beautifully illustrated in a manner that reminds me of Charlie Harper's gorgeous animal studies – not the same, of course, but reminiscent of them. The information contained in the book is given in short amounts and are embedded within the illustrated pages. There is just enough to read aloud to the kids without having their attention flag. They love seeing the different pictures and my grandson really enjoys learning more about the animals. My granddaughter is...
