Juan Enrique: Excelente calidad.

Ted: I have travelled all over the world for months at a time. I wish this pack had been made when I started. First this is not an outdoorsy type of pack. If you need to do a lot of hiking then this is not for you. The carrying system is comfortable but not all day comfortable. This is a travel pack. Great for Europe, Asia or Africa where a wheeled suitcase is a major hindrance. Get across town, on the subway, ferry- you get the idea. Backpack straps and waist belt store away separately. This is important as many other packs have the waist belt flapping around when you don't need it. It holds about the same as a US carry on and is easy to pack. . The compression straps and side wings really work well to pull everything together. Also they give it some structure which again makes packing easy. No water bottle holder. So nothing to catch or get torn if you have to check it on a plane. I usually carry a small pack for day trips or as my personal item for the plane so this has not been an issue for me.
IMHO the size is just right. Last year I used it on a 3 week trip to Greece and Holland which included a wedding-with the required suit and dress shoes.

H. Thrasher: I love Osprey and have so many of their packs and accessories that I'm probably not the most objective. I've been searching for the perfect travel carry-on for years and for backpack this is as good as it gets.

The good:
1 - great organization--places for just about everything. And now that the laptop compartment is against your back and not in the front zip, it's as perfect as it can get for organization
2 - great carry comfort. This is not meant to be a hiker's pack so not sure why people complain when it's not as comfortable for hikes as people want. But for carrying during travel in an airport, on trains, and urban walks, it's wonderfully comfortable
3 - Solid construction. I've never worried about the durability of any Osprey product, this is no exception.
4 - Awesome padded handles in the right spots

The Meh
1 - While the cinching is a great feature to make sure it bundles down tightly, there is no great stowing for those straps so if you don't buckle them up, they're flapping in the breeze while walking. This isn't an issue if you are occasionally stopping every one in a while (i.e. connecting flight) but is a pain when you are...

J C: Purchased this bag for a recent trip to Italy and Ireland. I travelled plane train and buses. This bag was excellent and comfortable to wear while navigating to next destination. No damage and held up to even being checked luggage on a few flights. The large opening was excellent in addition to all the extra internal pockets and padded laptop section. Only issue the shoulder strap should be included for free. You would need to order and pay additional funds. For the price of the bag it should be included. I found the bag easy to carry by the various handles with the rigging zipped away.

BigTangTheory: Honestly, I was an impulse purchase. My friend said he bought this because it was on sale. So i did some small research on this before the sale was over. It was between this and the EagleCreek Digi Hauler. I have a few trips coming up and I already have a carry-on luggage so I really didn't need one. But this! This is in a form of a backpack/shoulder bag.

Anyways, so after some research, this was the better option in regards to the durability, the utility of pockets, and the security from pickpockets as compared to the other travel backpacks I looked at. Upon receipt I compared packing space with the carry-on luggage (Briggs & Riley Sympatico International Carry-On Spinner, Burgundy, 21 Inch) I already had. I used (Shacke Pak - 4 Set Packing Cubes) and I was able to pack everything thing needed for my 1 week trip equally. Granted, it was very tight for my Osprey. I was unable to use the side pockets effectively with all 4 cubes packed in while my luggage still had some wiggle room. But then again, it depends on the circumstances of my trip. Most of the things I packed into my luggage are specific to my trip and activities (Destination Wedding) as...

lovetousetheprime: I bought this to replace my Osprey Nebula, because I bought a 17" laptop without thinking through whether or not it would fit in my current backpack. The laptop fits perfectly in the proper pouch of the porter 46. I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with the construction of this backpack. The quality of my Nebula was great, but this looks and feels like it could handle a lot of rough travel. It also meets a lot of the functionality that the Nebula had: laptop pouch, accessible top pouch, and front organization pouch. The front pouch however, is slightly less accessible due to the compression straps, but they're easy enough to quickly disconnect. The top and bottom carrying handles are very padded making it quite comfortable to carry, and when straps are stowed and the compression straps are cinched down it makes for a decent briefcase that doesn't look like you're just hand carrying a backpack. Most of the photos make the pack look HUGE (don't get me wrong it is when fully-packed), but the great part is that it can accommodate the full spectrum of loads without looking bulky or sitting uncomfortably because of the multiple ways to use the compression...

Big Guy: The Osprey Porter is THE BEST carry-on luggage/backpack you will ever buy. It holds a ton of clothes, accessories and is extremely well buit. As well, Osprey guarantees its product with a warranty to replace or fix any issues with the bag. This bag is great for anyone as it has shoulder suspension straps to keep the bag close to your shoulders and back for comfort. My only advice is to get a rain cover for it (not included) and if needed a shoulder strap (not included) if you want to carry like a gym bag.
