Darin: I used this for our raised bed vegetable garden and it was great. Not having to reapply nutrients to the soil is super nice, and the time release on Osmocote is what makes that happen. If you have really hungry plants, I'd suggest applying the recommended amount after the seedlings have rooted and established themselves, once more if they seem a bit hungry halfway through the season, and once again after full flowering/fruiting has begun. Won't burn you plants, and is easy to apply!

Amazon Customer: Time release fertizer is the only way to go with container plantings, and 6 months covers the time zones for growing in Canada. A number of time release fertitizers only give 3 months which is not quite enough in Alberta and definitely far short in Nova Scotia which has a much longer growth season. I used to water with feritilizer dissolved in water, trying to remember to do it periodically, but I gave a planting to someone who hadn't gardened before so put in time release to make it easier for her just to water it. i saw her 2 months later and was astounded to see her plants twice the size of mine and super healthy looking. I have been sold on time release ever since.

R. Burke: I have been an advocate for this product for many years to allow fertilizing oranmentals over several months with a single application. Just grab a handfall and broadcast across a large area. Make sure to water immediately after application so as to not burn the foilage of plants.
The only downside is that the cost of this product has *multiplied* in the last year. Raw material price increases should only raise the price moedestly, not multiple-fold. Hence, I use this produce sparingly, making a bag last multiple times longer.

David: This type of slow release fertilizer is a rare thing... It actually works and slowly releases the fertilizer to the plants for many months continuously... Put it once and don't have to worry for many months... The plants happily grow rapidly! Would highly recommend this for serious gardeners!
