Pascale: I've been using it for a couple months now and it's great. It's a really made well ukulele on the cheaper side. I am in love with it and you'll be too. The shipping was well everything was there nice and intact although, they poke a whole in the uku box to slide in the tuner. It got me scared but everything was ok it's just a weird technic but hey; we all got our way hun.

bc: Quality Uke, no imperfections. The action is a bit high so will have to sand down the saddle. Intonation is good. Strings hold tune quite well.

Gideon: The media could not be loaded.    My whole family plays the ukelele so I thought I would pick it up and learn how to play. I've seen them make great music on really expensive custom ukeleles and toy ukeleles so I knew mine wouldn't be something that would break the bank. After doing my internet due diligence by researching reviews and videos I decided on the Oscar Schmidt OU2.

-Size: Folks, size matters. I have big hands and when I've tried playing on a regular ukelele it never sounded right. Because this uke is a, "concert" it comes a little larger in the neck which makes it easier for us ham hands.

-All-in-one: I wanted to get everything together so I wouldn't need to find a case or tuner. The only thing I thought I might need extra was nyglut strings but I was happily surprised that it came installed with them already. The tuner is a really neat tool and gets you playing in a hurry, VERY simple to use!

-Pretty: The Oscar is a pretty instrument and seems pretty sturdy. I haven't noticed any rattle or tuning issues like I've read in some of the reviews. I recommend checking youtube for some comparisons to find what sound you like. I love the sound...

Ken K: Nice package at a good price. I've had this sweet little Uke for about a month now and love it. The build quality and finish are surprisingly good at this price point, the sound is bright and clear. Consider a more protective case because the included gig bag is flimsy, you might as well be carrying it around in a flour sack. I have since ordered the Oscar Schmdt UC3 case, it should arrive today. The tuner is a neat little device and works like a charm, much easier than a pitch pipe or tuning fork. Even though it is a laminated body the book-matched mahogany veneer and satin finish seems flawless and after some rubbing with the included cloth it feels like silk. While many members of my extended family play a variety of instruments this is my first. I noodled around with the guitar abut 40 yrs ago but never really applied myself. With a little practice (and thanks to the included DVD and book I bought) I'm already playing tunes. My wife even enjoys hearing me play! (novice that I am) Maybe after I get better with this I might consider a higher end model but until then this more than fills the bill perfectly for my needs. RO Expert: This uke was purchased for my wife. We had no prior uke experience, so went with the Amazon reviews and chose this one.
She is very pleased with the purchase. It is a concert uke, and is an ideal size for my wifes fingers. The frets are a bit to close together for my fingers, so ended up buying an Oscar Schmidt long neck tenor for me (also from Ausin Bazaar - reviewed separately)
It shipped really fast and arrived well packaged in perfect condition. Construction is solid, and finish very good for a uke of this price. I think we would have to pay a lot more to get anything noticeably better (at least to our ears)
It sounds really good, and the action was spot on right out of the box, making it easy and fun to play. After the strings settled in, it keeps its tune well. We still check the tuning every day (easy with the digital tuner that came with the package), and adjustments are very minimal/zero now.
Two months down the line, it is getting played daily, and my wife is still pleased with it. Can't say better than that. Recommended product!

Miketheman: For being mass produced in this price range, you really aren't going to do much better. I bought this for my sister, but also own a similar lanikai 21C. I think the two are of fairly equal quality, the pros of this model over the 21C Lanikai are that this one has nicer metal tuners, and little deeper sound and comes with the case and tuner and cleaning cloth. This ukulele comes with the traditional black, rather than white/clear strings. I think they are a little harsher than the white/clear strings in terms of the pressure on your finger tips. Easy enough to change the strings for $5 anytime you feel like it. One other note about this uke is the bridge on it is higher than I have seen on other similar Ukes. So the strings ride a bit higher over the hole. Haven't played it enough to know what the effects of this are, but havn't noticed any troubles yet. I bought this item because, for the price, it is an amazingly good quality instrument. Are there better Ukes than this?... Of course. Are there better ukulele's for under $100?.. doubtful. I was worried this item would be damaged in the shipping, however, this item came in a large box (that did get crunched a bit), inside the large...
