ORTUR Laser Master 2 S2 Series Focusing Controller for Precise Laser Engraving and Cutting

TJ: The design is great, makes it a lot more convenient to adjust the focal length of the laser.

The build quality is on par for Ortur, but some details were overlooked.

After installing the z-axis adjustment plate, the x-axis and y-axis limit switched need to be adjusted too. No big deal its all in the instructions.

The first problem is with the y-axis limit switch. Instructions say to adjust the switch out 30mm, however after doing so there is not enough wire length to plug it back it. I will have to get longer plug ins for the switch to work. Not the end of the world but definitely should have been included.

The second issue is when installing the longer pillar washer that offset the x-axis limit switch. This time the hardware was included except the new screws are too short. They are barely long enough to catch maybe half a thread on the nut, but then slips out. Again not the end of the world, just a trip to the hardware store to get longer screws, but should have been the proper length the first time.

With all that said, I still think it is worth the money and will make ease of adjusting the focus.

Randy R.: Allows for setting the laser to extra low and extra high settings that were not previously possible. Seriously expands the type of engraving jobs you can do.

J. Beaver: I preferred to buy this rather than a cheaper plastic version.
It's a solid solution and works smoothly BUT there is no end stop spacer included in the kit.
The laser head WILL hit the frame.
The product video even shows installation on an LM3 but it does not address the end stops.

M. C. Albury: Update: After looking at the Amazon pictures of the device I found that I did not receive all the parts shown on Amazon. The actual contents were as described on the enclosed data sheet but not as shown on the item page on Amazon. The coupling and additional plates shown on the Amazon page would have been a great help.
Have mounted on my Ortur LM2 12vdc unit. Had to design and 3d print some new mounting plates to make it fit. I did lose some of my 400x430mm work area due to size of device. Lost about 21mm in y axis. The y axis stop mounting plate provided with the kit was just about 5mm too short. On my 3d printed front mounting plate I added the 5mm thick mount needed to avoid the y axis rod coupling. Overall, if you want to use on an LM2 (not LM2 pro) then there is some 3d printing required.
I will post new photos show all mods when I complete the fix.
Note I hadded an extension to adjustment screw nob to extend above laser when in full up position. Printed air assist to fit around lens.
Still building mods and have regained the x axis print area with latest print. Will post 3D print fix when all mods are done.
Amazon needs to reflect the correct box contents on...

Morrie Portnoff: This should be standard on Ortur LM 2 Pro. It is now rock solid with no lateral movement. No more fighting with those 2 locking screws.
