Tony: Works well for my application - a portable 4000# winch. It’s important to get a proper crimp on the contacts or they wont fit in the housing. I used a hammer type crimping tool.

David Hogue: I have a moderately sized 1000W inverter that I'm using with 4 AWG wire connected to a few 12v batteries I'd like to switch between. XT90 and Anderson Powerpole are rated in theory, but they use smaller wires.
You need an extra beefy crimp for this. Preferably hydrolic or a standing press. I used a hammer crimp with a 3lb hammer and I would not recommend it. Fold over the wire to fill the entire connector before crimping.
And get a good fuse or breaker.

Gavin Metcalfe: Exactly what you wanted, not like all the other cheap junk Amazon seems to be selling. They are dear but you get what you pay for. Solid feeling plastic, the lugs are of good quality, just a good experience overall. Definitely not weatherproof, I have found the black covers hold more water in then they keep out.
