The 2x really makes a difference when looking at Milky Way, seems to double the visible stars. Super wide angle. Almost no eye relief. Focus both sides separately. They are also great at the theater. Not designed as a primary bino.

I own 9 pairs of binoculars…
This one is the most fun to use!
While the magnification is low (2X), the view is very immersive for constellations in particular, where the observer might then see new stuff never before noticed. Very nice!
Great optical quality.
However: do get a fine, large microfiber cloth for cleaning your optics because you will be inadvertelntly getting your fingers into the large front lens ALL the time…

I admit I was somewhat underwhelmed on the first use, but have steadily grown to greatly appreciate these binoculars particularly for viewing the constellations. Here’s what I can say:
1) the binoculars gather ample light to see the next level of stars normally not seen by my "naked eye",
completing the constellation stars I could not see from the star charts.
2) they perform at a magnification that I can hold steady (without a tripod), unlike my higher
magnification binoculars. If you are looking for details on planets, deep sky objects, etc…. these are
not what you are looking for. They seem to be designed for constellation observation.
3) they offer a wide field of view, so you can see the whole constellation in most cases.
4) these binoculars are solid and offer quality optics. They are compact and easily carried.
5) they are short profile - one must be careful not to touch the surfaces of the lens. I hold them with
thumb, index and middle fingers only - leaving my ring and little fingers to block out unwanted light
when needed.
6) with the included strap, they tend to want to rest with the 54mm...

Simon-SkySimon-Sky: The media could not be loaded.

Ryan Helbig:
Looking through these at my Bortle 5 skies, let's me see almost exactly the entire range of magnitude that is presented in the Sky & Telescope Pocket Sky Atlas. The wide field of view allows me to view many constellations/asterisms in their entirety, such as Gemini and The Big Dipper. They are exactly what I expected, and I am extremely pleased with them.
The image quality seems very good to me, when focused. The outer 10% or so of FOV has some aberration, but is great for focusing at center and scanning the sky.
I purchased the rubber eyecups mentioned in another review that fit fairly well, but they cause fogging issues for me, so I don't really use them.
Overall, I love them and am extremely glad that I purchased them. Nothing else will give you the view that you get with ultra wide FOV low power binoculars.

I have owned a smaller aperture Galilean binocular and wanted more aperture with more power so I purchased this Orion labeled bino. The optical coatings are very good and contstruction is first rate. Very similar to a friend's Vixen Galilean bino. I can focus each eye piece to an "almost" pinpoint star but not quite for each lens. That is okay as my smaller bino does not provide pinpoint stars either. It is close, though and provides a wonderful experience viewing the night sky at such wide field of view. I can see all of the important stars in each constellation and that is what these are designed for. They are a bit heavy due to their all metal frame construction. The padded case and caps included are of very good quality.
For the price paid, I received a very good product. Minus one star only due to the lack of pinpoint stars in both eyepieces. (I expected pinpoint stars as my other high quality binoculars provide, but they - in all fairness - are not of this Galilean design).

Ross SackettRoss Sackett: I'm a long-term amateur skywatcher and have a substantial collection of binoculars. I had read glowing reviews of these "constellation" binocs but I was skeptical. I thought that a magnification of only ~2X was hardly any better than the naked eye. I was wrong. For viewing constellations these are without peer. The wide field beautifully frames all of Orion, Leo, and Cassiopeia. The modest magnification also brings out many stars that aren't apparent to the naked eye, going about a magnitude deeper than your eyes and conditions allow. As someone mentioned, finally what you see looks like what is depicted in mag 5-6 star charts. In my suburban light bubble the Pleiades and the Beehive look like they should under perfect skies, with more stars visible than I can usually see. I don't want to oversell them--these constellation binocs seem to perform best on star fields, showing their colors and relative brightnesses beautifully. A haven't found them particularly effective on low surface brightness objects like the Andromeda galaxy or the glowing star clouds of the Milky Way. But I find there is nothing like them for constellations and asterisms. I will...

First of all these arrived well packed and ahead of schedule so thanks to Orion/Amazon.
They come in a soft zip up case and have nice lens caps with a good fit.
I am a glasses wearer but don’t like to wear them with binoculars . I’m short sighted and my eyes are a bit different from each other, even so I managed to get these focused pretty quickly , which was pleasing as I’d read I may have difficulty with this. I tried them outside in daylight first before and then adjusted them on the night for the stars.
I’m using them in a light polluted back garden, and straightaway the view is impressive. The stars look pretty sharp to me. These binoculars do what they are supposed to do. The stars are brighter, and you’re seeing more of them, with a big field of view. You can fit the whole of ‘the plough’ in for example. I saw all of Ursa Minor straight off, normally a couple of those stars are pretty impossible for me to see with the naked eye.
I’d say it took about 5 to 10 minutes to get comfortable with them, as regards how close to have them to your eyes, after that they feel fine.
As another reviewer noted there is no rubber on the...
