The Irwins: My dogs absolutely hate their teeth being brushed! I previously had "normal" looking toothbrushes for them, but that would take forever and I never felt like I could get the inside parts of their mouth. These toothbrushes are so much easier to use and it cuts the work of brushing their teeth in half. I would definitely recommend this toothbrush to anyone with a pet!

Vik: My dogs do not like to have their teeth brushed, but having a brush that cleans from all three sides of teeth at the same time reduces teeth-brushing stress by reducing the time. I use enzymatic toothpaste to clear/dissolve anything that might be in left their mouth to cause dental decay. The brushes held well, I am now replacing them as the bristles got misaligned with time (similar to human toothbrushes), but it took a while to do that, so they are durable. Also, the bristles are soft on the gums.

COLD AH: My hopes may have been a little too high for this dog toothbrush. It looks like it would be an easy-to-use multitasker toothbrush. Just put the toothpaste on and get all sides of your dog's teeth. However, the side brushes are not as flexible as they look and the toothpaste does not even seat on the brush tips. It's left sitting on top of the sides of the brushes to fall off when attempting to get the brush in the dog's mouth. The side brushes do not open up to allow for the sides of the teeth to be brushed. The overall size of the brush head is too bulky to get to the back of the dog's molars--where all the plaque is. I will stick with my soft kid's toothbrush-easier to paste and clean the problem areas in my dog's mouth.

Kelly R: IMO, how useful this brush is, is going to depend a lot on how cooperative (or not) your particular pet is. My new dog is extremely good natured, but hasn’t had his teeth brushed before I started a few weeks ago (he’s six and a half years old), and he doesn’t really like the way I need to hold his muzzle or lips in order to get to the back teeth.

So while I like the design of both the brush head itself, and the handle (nicely sized and comfortable), I often use my finger/finger brush for the back teeth as he tolerates that better. It works well for the front and eye teeth, though, and I’m going to continue working with my dog on using the brush on his back teeth. Luckily, he loves the toothpaste (I’m using the Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic in vanilla mint) so he actually looks forward to his daily tooth brushing even if he’d prefer I let him eat the paste off of the brush instead of actually brushing his teeth, lol.

One note on brush size: my guy is a 78 lb border collie/greyhound mix, and he has a correspondingly large mouth (and large teeth!), so I have no problem actually getting the brush into his mouth, but I would think it would be a...

PRZ: It performed as expected, but the toothbrush bristles seem to wear out quicker than the sturdy brush handles. The bristles get spread out rather quickly which is a little disappointing.
