Rhodophyllis: These magnetic cases are plactic with magnets on the back -- but they work well to hold folders and do not slip to the floor (like some do). This was a good purchase.

Gator Jeff: Decided this would be great to have owner manuals for items in the garage handier than keeping inside in a file cabinet. Easily hangs on my metal AC air-handler in the garage. Only small issue: the magnet is plenty strong to handle several brochures, but apparently the weight was too much for the adhesive holding the magnetic material to the plastic file folder. I repaired by using a couple strips of 3M VHB tape (I'm sure various adhesives would work too). I suspect I exceeded their stated weight capacity, but they could easily have used a stronger adhesive.
