Debra: I bought the medium size and it is perfect to use as a personal item carry on. I was able to pack a smaller purse to use later in my trip in my carry bag n luggage and this bag served as the perfect bag for under the seat in front of me. All the pockets made it easy to find all my smaller items like my AirPods and chargers, chap stick, mints, etc… The outside pockets were great for things like hand sanitizer, travel tissues and the like and because there are so many I was able to place my phone and empty my pockets into them making the TSA check point that much easier to grab my bag and shoes in one shot making it easier to grab my stuff and keep moving. The mesh pocket on the end made it convenient to carry the water I purchased after going through security and made it easy to get to during my flight. It’s large enough to pack a change of clothes or a sweatshirt (maybe two if they aren’t super oversized or puffy and can even be turned sideways so you can still stretch out your legs in front of you if you like. It is absolutely my go to travel purse/bag.

Just Jill: If, like me, you’re looking for a a replacement for the 31 zip top utility tote, this is close, with a couple of notable differences. First, I got the medium, and I should have gotten the large, because the medium isn’t big enough to tote around all we did in the bag we’re looking to replace. I mostly use it as a pool bag, and while it does hold a lot, of the whole family’s going to the pool, this one bag wouldn’t be large enough to hold everything for all of us. It’s more suitable for 1-2 people’s gear/towels/snacks.
Secondly, this bag has interior, not just exterior pockets. I didn’t think this was something that I’d need, since our previous bags didn’t have them. But it’s actually super helpful for keeping things organized & finding things like goggles or my keys quickly and easily.

I really like the pattern of the bag, but unfortunately it wasn’t available in the larger size, which is the one I feel like I need. It seems sturdy & well made, so I’ll either keep it, or probably return it and try the large instead.

Kindle Customer: Purchased this bag to replace my 31 bag. I'm a teacher and carry A LOT of stuff. Just got the bag and it seems to be well constructed. I like the solid color liner inside but wish it was a lighter color, maybe charcoal instead of black to make it easier to find things. Same with the outside color, wish for a less distracting, more subtle patterns...I got the large so not many options...would like some solids.

The outside pockets are nice, taller than 31 pockets but not as roomy. I finally figured out why the 31 bags only have 2 pockets on one side -- so the bulge doesn't get in the way when you carry it. The inside pockets are nice to have but they are mesh which I think will get caught and snagged over time when putting things in or taking them out quickly....would have preferred pockets of the same material as the liner.

This bag is taller than it's 31 counterpart, which is nice so you can zip your stuff inside. For the most part the zipper is long enough so the top flaps mostly lay down flat inside the sides but....an inch longer zipper or a 2 part zipper would make it perfect. Busy Prof: Yes, please! I had ordered another, cheaper bag ( Fashion Print Zip Top Organizing Beach Bag Tote Diaper Bag WeekenderCan Be Personalized (Red Diamond) ), which is technically larger than this one, but the lining was really cheap and began flaking away into my belongings within a week or so.

Though more expensive and a bit smaller than my first purchase, this bag is worth the money. It's a much more durable material and the design is more attractive. Because it's smaller, there's not room for the sizable marker bag I used to take markers/pens/etc. from my office to my classrooms. Because of the five (FIVE!) inside pockets and eight (EIGHT!) outside pockets (and in case you weren't paying attention that's THIRTEEN sturdy little pockets), I no longer need my marker bag. This smaller, lighter bag is exactly what I needed.

What I generally carry in my bag: 2-1" binders, a 10.1" tablet, an ergonomic dry eraser, two dozen dry erase markers, 6-8 markers, 6-8 pens, geometry tools, post-its, glasses cleaner, my phone, lip balm, and my keys. Crazily enough, I still don't fill all the pockets!

Other reviewers have mentioned the strap and the need to carry a water bottle....
