Stephen M. Geraci: I am not a handy guy and who knows maybe I'm dyslexic, but I have such a hard assembling anything. I bought a deck box last year that I had to send back because it was so hard for me to put it together. The plastic was flimsy and nothing was matching and I needed 8 hands to hold i tall together. After several hours I gave up. So I was a little scared about this one, but it was great. First of all they give you sturdy resin plastic and everything snaps how it should pretty easily. There were two steel rods that need go go in and I definitely recommend a soft rubber mallet for that part so you don't cut your hands. The parts are minimal and took me 15 minutes tops. I'm so grateful some companies know there are people like me who don't do well with assembly. I did it alone and was really impressed how easy it was. Also, this thing is super sturdy and I see myself getting many years out of it and even doubles as a bench for about 3 people. So happy with my purchase.

P.S. the only tools you will need is a Phillip Screwdriver and a rubber mallet.

Ki: Love this storage unit for the price! All you need is a drill! Snaps together fairly easily, make sure you put the metal brackets before you start to assemble. Comes with shocks, so little fingers won't get smashed.

Amazon Customer: Some of the best instructions and labeling I've seen on home assembly furniture, which counts for a lot. I was able to put this together myself except for attaching the lid at the end which will require a second person. You will need a Philips screwdriver and possibly a soft mallet, although the metal rods along the top can be inserted with a little finessing and careful pressure. The soft open and close lid is a really nice touch. Not sure that its completely waterproof as some gaps exist at the joints but it should keep everything dry during rainstorms.

D. BaerD. Baer: These were surprisingly easy to put together. The included instructions were very good and the results are a heavy-duty, large-capacity box that I can sit on (about 200 lbs) without worrying about it. The box has a metal loop for adding a padlock if you want.

One of the best features is the arms that keep the lid open.

I bought two and the plan is to have them contain all of the mess on my back porch: lawn equipment and grilling supplies. The box is big enough that I can nest a tote inside to hold charcoal to keep it separate from the other items. I have just begun to organize the rest of the space and wish there were some kind of half shelf so that I could have multiple layers. I may just create something simple out of 2x4's and plywood to give me a little more organization as I load it up.

I don't need any more of these, but I am so far very happy with my purchase. Note that they're about 50 lbs each, so you'll probably need a couple of people to wrangle the box and then move it into place once it has been assembled.

The only outstanding item is the "weatherproof" feature. It is well over 100 degrees now in the desert and we'll see how these survive...

DP: I needed a soft sledge hammer to get the sides to snap in place but other than that it went together with no problem. Plenty of space.

L-A: Great storage box. It holds all our outdoor cushions and keeps everything dry. It was very easy to assemble as well. Took maybe 10 minutes at most. So far so good!

Minerva Maharajh: Took about 30 mins to assemble with minimal tools. Looks great and does the job. The only reason I deducted a star was that I still saw minor gaps at the joints so I am concerned bugs and water can still sneak in but my Husband put brown caulking to fill in any holes. Also, the hydraulic doesn't help the slamming of the cover so I am a bit concerned for our toddler - just need to keep an extra eye when closing the bin.

Jenn: Absolutely perfect. So big the kids got in it to play and they're 3 teenaged girls. Lol. Worth every penny. Arrived quickly and was not too hard to assemble. Very sturdy. Waterproof. There have been some heavy rain storms and no water at all inside. Used as an outdoor furniture cushions storage and all fit perfectly.
