Chase: I've bought lots of hazelnuts from different vendors. I haven't ever had a bad batch, but some are better than others. This batch is the best I've had. The nuts are fresh and flavorful. The 5 pound bag is a good value. I eat hazelnuts every day because I love them, and they are very good for you (look it up and see the benefits). These hazelnuts are delicious.

Cynthia Milbradt: I am changing my rating on these hazelnuts. Although they are not filberts as are only grown in the Yamhill Valley of Oregon, and they are still small and dry like Turkish hazelnuts; THEY DO HAVE GOOD FLAVOR. I was disappointed in these initially until I started snacking on them. I still don't care for them for fresh eating, they will be great for baking.

I grew up in the epicenter of the filbert industry in Oregon. I know filberts, and these are not filberts. They are hazelnuts of some other variety. Filberts are large, light brown, and "juicy". These are none of that. They are small, dark, and very dry.

Apparently, food items cannot be returned so the best I can do is let others know that if you are expecting the fantastic, valley-grown, Oregon Filbert, look somewhere else.
