Allison J.: This ghee is buttery, rich, slightly nutty with a high smoke point and excellent flavor. The jar can be a little difficult to open if you get ghee in the threads, run the jar and lid under hot water for just a few seconds and you've got ghee! This is my favorite brand by far. Pricey, but the flavor far outweighs any competitors.

incognito: I was seeking Ghee sourced from the most truly humane and transparent sourcing I could find. Also, I wanted ghee from truly pasture-fed animals. This is one of the two I have found and tried, so far, both of which taste amazing!

My chef friend and I compared it to his 4th & Heart Ghee. There was simply no comparison. This was so much better, that his came off as completely tasteless by comparison.

(The other one I have tried, so far, after researching for those criteria, was Spring Sunrise. Also excellent. Different flavors, both super high quality.)

The company also has a good, clear explanation, about the time of year when they source their milk, to get it when the cows are fully pastured and eating only grass.

Deborah S: I purchased this for its organic, grass-fed properties. I was hoping that, like the non-cultured ghee sold by this same company, it came from non-homogenized milk. And indeed it does (the online descriptions here and on the company's site fail to mention this for the cultured ghee). According to some diets that I have taken a partial interest in (a la Dr. Price and Susan Fallon), getting grass-fed butter/ghee is very important, and the window in which the milk is harvested (and which this company follows) contributes to the properties as well. Such ghee contains tons more vitamins than the butter you can get in the store and contains them in a form that is far more bioavailable to our bodies than other sources. Additionally, it is safe for the lactose intolerant and is supposed to have this marvelous synchronized (Activator X) effect when consumed the same time you take your cod liver oil (for this, my doctors recommend that I take Carlson brand cod liver oil combined with some really good digestive enzymes, as I have a lot of difficulty with digesting fish and also almost any oil in its higher quantities). This works out fine for me. I take the enzyme with one serving of the...

Stavros Sorvats: The product itself is probably fine, as I've ordered the smaller jars of the same brand and have been happy with those. This jar however had a huge air pocket in the jar. This air pocket was visible from the outside of the jar and it's a shame that it was ever shipped. After I pushed the ghee down (filling the empty space left by the air pocket) the jar was less than 3/4 full.

The product seems like it's decent, but the lack of noticing such a thing for a small company is unacceptable.

Update:

I was sent a replacement jar at no cost to me. The jar arrived very quickly and as usual the quality of the product is outstanding. The replacement jar was also filled to a level that one would expect.

I looked back at my Amazon orders. Prior to this order for the larger jar I have ordered 7 of the smaller jars in the last several months. I do not recall any of them having a noticeable amount gone upon arrival. I think it was just a fluke-no big deal as these things happen. What I was more concerned about is how the company would react to it.

They handled the situation very well. I contacted their customer service via email and they sent out another jar....
