Cynthia Milbradt: These hazelnuts are very good. They are fresh and tasty, not dry or bitter. But I don't think they are the true Oregon Filbert. I'm not sure if you will find better as fresh crop Filberts are very hard to get these days. I grew up in the middle of Filbert country here in Oregon and I know Filberts.
The difference is in size, shape, color, and sweetness. The true Oregon Filbert is light brown, large, and very sweet with good moisture content. These nuts by NUTS INC hit all points at about 90% (more or less). I recommend them as a good hazelnut.
