Amazon Customer: Good for light to medium cuts - not meant for old trees with large diameter, but description states this anyways. Recommend for homeowners since it’s safer than gas chainsaws.

Aoman ChuriaAoman Churia: For anything larger than around 1/2" the chainsaw was great. It does take longer than a gas powered saw but hey, I literally only needed it for this job. Where I found issues were that the chain tensioner would get loose due to vibration. On larger sized logs just tighten it on every cut. But on smaller branches the saw kept getting janked around because the rododendrum I was cutting has some really flexible and tough branches. The chain would get loose on every single cut and it would jump off almost every single time. I didn't get hurt, it seems like the sprocket system prevents rotating once the chain is off. Pretty good safety feature. I'm giving it a 4 just because I didn't expect the chain to come off so much. But if you have a nice controlled log there's no vibration to worry about, just tighten up the chain after the cut and it's ready again. It seems to have some sort of clutch system which makes it behave a little like a gas powered saw. Like the motor will spin to the the momentum before the chain in engaged. I don't know exactly how that works but it's interesting. It seems to survive some abuse at least for a 2 day job so far.

briano: Have you ever made a purchase thinking “it’s probably too good to be true, but even if it only kind of works, it’s worth the gamble?” Well, that’s where I landed on this. It just happened to turn out being one of my best decisions.

This chainsaw has been great. This thing chews through wood so well it makes the neighborhood beavers and woodchucks hang their heads in shame. The onboard sharpening lets me cleave the bark of my storm felled enemies in seconds and let’s me clear debris with minimal interruptions. As long as the cord stays plugged and I top off the bar oil when needed, this thing has been nearly unstoppable. I have to say nearly because poorly placed cuts that end up putting too much pressure squeezing the bar will stop anything, but that was my own user error. It’s a great saw, but unfortunately it can’t fix bad decisions. You have to do that yourself.

It’s the easiest chainsaw I’ve ever had to take care of, it’s reliable, much quieter than my old gas saw, starts every time without any extra fiddling or magic passwords like my old saw needed (i.e. push the button exactly like this, or you have to hold it just like that and only pull...

RonRon: Cut up branches from an elm tree that had a cir. of eight feet but will need a saw with as least a 24" blade to do
the 4 ton trunk.

Amazon Customer: Had my doubts about a 120V 15A chainsaw after owning a Greenworks 40V battery powered chainsaw. The saw was ok but you'll need at least two battery packs and they sell for over $100 each. But this Oregon CS1500 is amazing. In two cutting sessions I've downed four 16 inch diameter pine trees and sectioned them (about a cords worth of wood once I split it all). Also cut some dried out 8 inch Cedar/Juniper (a hard wood). Cuts like butter.
The built-in chain sharpener is a WINNER folks! Squeeze the trigger and pull the lever and some sparks will fly and then the chain will be sharp as when brand new (wear leather gloves when handling the chain - you've been warned).
Oregon says to use a 12-2 power cord/extensions. I had some 14-2 x 50 foot extensions from my musician days and it worked no problem (even up to 200 feet of cord). I have one acre and can reach any area.
Check the oil reservoir and chain tension once in a while, NEVER run it dry especially while cutting and don't press down on the chain too hard while cutting (making the engine slow down and labor heavily) and this saw should last for years (has a 2-year warranty ... nice!). Oregon sells a one gallon jug of bar...

Janine: Perfect weight and easy of handling for those small to medium jobs. Currently using it to cut down a 30 year old blue spruce with no concerns. Love the self oiling and sharpening feature, still a little unsure how often I will have to refill the oil reservoir.

Fadi Shamaan: Are you tired of dull chainsaws that require constant maintenance and sharpening? Look no further than the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw!

As someone who has had their fair share of frustrating experiences with chainsaws, I can confidently say that the Oregon CS1500 is a game-changer. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, but it also has an integrated self-sharpening system called PowerSharp. Yes, you read that right, it sharpens itself! No more stopping mid-task to manually sharpen your chainsaw.

But let's back up a bit. When I first received the chainsaw, I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight it was. I was worried it might be too heavy for me to handle, but it was surprisingly manageable. The 18-inch blade was the perfect size for the tasks I had in mind, and the 15 Amp motor made quick work of even the thickest branches.

Now, let's talk about the PowerSharp system. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after using it a few times, I can confidently say that it works like a charm. When the chain starts to dull, simply pull the red PowerSharp lever for 3-5 seconds, and voila! Your chain is sharpened and ready to...
