Teamchaos: The clippers worked quietly and didn't frighten our 18 year old cat. Her fur was badly matted and it took a bit of time to get the technique correct to shave her, but once we did the process went smoothly. The clippers were powerful enough to cut through the worst of the clumps of hair. She didn't struggle much and actually started purring while we were trimming her. I was worried about nicking her, but that never happened. Take your time and these clippers will get the job done.

T. Steele: I read the negative reviews and was very hesitant to buy it but after doing research on it and others, I decided to take a chance. When I used it on my daughter's skittish, epileptic cat (this cat has serious physical, 'mental', and 'emotional' health issues. The vet won't even trim it's hair unless it goes on anti-epileptic meds and then gets tranquilized, which are not cheap!), she was completely fine with the quiet buzzing and the hair came off like a hot knife to butter. I could only do it for a few minutes due to her impatience but I was able to accomplish a lot on the first run. Every other time is the same result, great though I'm not a professional hair cutter and it shows but the horrible mats are gone and she seems to be much more comfortable. Enjoy.

Rachel: I needed a good shaver for my elderly nearly 20yo long haired cat prone to matting. It's at that point where it would be embarrassing to bring her to the vet for a groom, so needed to tackle it at home. She's a little bit fragile being elderly, but she didn't flinch at the gentle noise of the unit when I first approached.

The scissors included are amazing, and were perfect for trimming the more solid mats and cleaning up around her throat without too many complaints from the kitty.

It's going to be an ongoing battle with her, but this will make it easier. I'm sure I heard her purring throughout the trimming that I've done so far.

I have been having trouble with fitting the comb attachments to try them, but I have damaged arthritic hands, so that may be a 'me' problem, not the unit's issue. Will check in over time.

Rosie-o: I have a 15 year old Maine Coon (DLH) mix with lots of fur of various types (fine, thick, wavy, straight - it's a cornucopia) . She's always been prone to a bit of matting, but as she's gotten older, hip and health issues have made it difficult for her to groom herself well and they were starting to get out of hand. With her health problems and travel anxiety, I wasn't entirely comfortable bringing her to a groomer... but she also wasn't tolerating regular comb outs. So I decided to try using clippers at home.

On first use she wasn't terrified of the noise, though it was unfamiliar. We've been using it for a couple of weeks. Every day or two I try to shave out another mat. Lately, as I've gotten used to the clippers, I've been able to get the mats out a bit quicker and sometimes get two at a time. And while it does look like she's gotten a terrible haircut -- the matted fur is coming off 1000x better than what we were doing before. So I'm very grateful that this is working for her.

Couldn't really ask for a better outcome, to be honest.

AGP: This unit takes a bit to get used to. I only use it on the max short setting without attachments as I found it does not work so well with the comb attachments. Test it on your forearm before using it on your pet. It holds a charge very well, and lasts a long time. Plus it can be used with the charging cable if need be.

L. Fillion: Our kitty had a couple nasty clumps of fur that would not un-clump and we got the clippers to shave them off so she'd be more comfortable. These are well made, quiet clippers that do their job flawlessly! Our fur baby didn't complain once! As a cat dad who shaves his head regularly, I've had a lot of bad luck with hair clippers. I thought I'd try these on my hair and they are the best clippers I've ever used (better than clippers over twice their price). I'm so happy I bought these clippers because the whole family can use them! Also, they really hold a charge! I've used them multiple times already and have yet to charge them. These things are awesome!

I tried many many products for my cat. I’d tried “human” clippers and that was a nightmare. I have a number of grooming tools like the comb with the razors, numerous scissors that cut fine fur with ease. But none of them can stop the pulling, and that’s what gets teeth in my hand because pulling on a mat HURTS the cat.

I was thinking she was going to have to get a mobile groomer or get some light sedation at the vet .. How on earth was I going to get these mats out of her fur?

I had purchased a large grooming tool like
this years back for a dog and it was two and a half times the price. It worked great, but I wasn’t sure that 39 bucks was going to be enough. But it is. It’s incredible. It does make noise, of course, but my cat doesn’t run screaming. Of course a real anxious animal may not put up with it but this thing works great. She literally didn’t even get out of the bed when I shaved off a mat under her...
