mzmony: My mom sold sets in a jewelry store and she loves these and orders them for all the new great grandchildren. When they are old enough to feed themselves the kids love having their own sized utensils. Ordering another set now for her first 'great-great'.

NewHope: I bought these for our 3 yr old Granddaughter. They are lighter weight than another set we have (also Oneida) and just slightly smaller, the points of the fork tines are sharper also. We originally thought that this would be an issue but it turns out it's a blessing.
We purchased Little Love by Oneida and also the Chateau by Oneida, comparing them the Chateau is slightly smaller, and lighter weight, the tines on the fork are also sharper allowing you to cleanly pick up any food.
The Little Love set is heavier weight but not overly so, it has a chunkier feel to it (which also makes it feel indestructible) the tines of the fork are sharper than the beginner feeding sets but still has trouble picking up some foods without smashing them vs spearing them.
Our Granddaughter loves the design on Little Love (cut out heart at bottom of cutlery) although she did get her finger stuck in one of the pieces. The weight and chunkier design of Little Love makes for easier grip. The sharpness of the Chateau fork is perfect for her to easily pick up all foods.
In a perfect world finding a set that is weighted like Little Love but made with sharper fork tines like Chateau would be...

My kids are now 9 and 11 and have decided they prefer to use the adult sized utensils, but I still use the child sized Moda utensils everyday, haha! The child size are perfect for eating desserts from small bowls and plates, and the little knives are useful as spreaders (butter, condiments in small bowls, etc). The small size gets rid of that annoying experience of the longer utensils falling out of, or accidentally being knocked out of a bowl or knocked off of a plate that is too small for the utensil’s length, knocking food or condiments onto the table or floor. After three years of use, the utensils still look great. I wash them in our dishwasher using various ‘eco friendly’ detergents, but have avoided any with citrus oils to prevent discoloration (this might have been a warning that came with the utensils). So go ahead and get the child sizes - definitely useful once kids are grown (at least for me).

Warren J. Dew: When our daughter was around a year old, she wanted to have the same tools as daddy and mommy had at the table. We let her use a tiny baby fork and spoon my mother gave us, and then later as she grew, a baby/toddler size fork and spoon that matched our wedding silver. She's two and a half now, and uses a fork and spoon almost as well as an adult, except where lack of adult strength is an issue. I bought this set because it's a bit of a pain to be washing the same fork between each meal, and I thought she might be ready for larger pieces.

The fork is 5.75 inches long, the spoon 5.25 inches, and the knife 6.75 inches. By comparison, the small fork in our adult set of tableware is 6.25 inches long. The total weight for the three pieces is just over 3 oz.; they are slightly lighter than our adult set, but it may just be that our set is heavier than an Oneida adult set would be.

The fork works well for our daughter; it seems long for a 2.5 year old, but the balance is such that she can hold it closer to the tines and still use an adult style hold. The proportions of the fork and spoon are better than competing options, such as the Danesco set at  Danesco 3-Piece...
