Olympus 8x25 WP II Binoculars: High-Powered Magnification for Crisp and Clear Viewing

We've only used them a handful of times and they are kept in a climate controlled environment. The purple plastic is now sticky and crumbling.

Dr.Jules: I own two other makes of binocular (Nikon and Viking) and have tried others : Opticron Discovery/Explorer, Hawke Frontier, Leica Trinovid, and another Viking - a Kestrel ED 8x25. Some couldn't be used due to very blurred sides (Hawke), or edge flickering blackouts/vignetting (Opticron and the Kestral), though they had good qualities the optical faults rendered them useless.

If you want a top class view and don't mind a somewhat wide bodied binocular, the Nikon P7 8x30 is the best under £400, no question (and actually it's under £200!) - it's remarkable and in some ways better then the Nikon Monarch due to no glare. For a much more compact binocular where a narrower field of view is accepted, these Olympus 8x25 are the ticket.

Bright (for a 25mm objective), very clear and sharp (and sharp a good way out - even though the FOV is narrow), good contrast and colour, CA is present but low and acceptable. The BAK4 phase corrected prisms are a luxury at this level - and I appreciate it!

The build is good (for sure not cheap feeling) and the eye-cups extend far enough to avoid side flickering vignetting (this is actually a big deal, as many smaller...

Tom Tom: Very fast shipping from Japan. Good quality product. My only disappointment is that they are made in China. I got the impression they’d be made in Japan which led me to order them. Other than that they do appear to be very well made. Very good image quality.

Port Angeles geezer: Olympus 8x25 WP II. Very good optics, decent eye relief (15mm) for eyeglass wearer. Nice solid feeling construction and very responsive focus wheel. Focuses down to about 5 ft if you want to inspect that insect exploring your foot. And inexpensive enough that if I lose them (again) or drop them from some great height I can face my loss philosophically (sp?). Like the purple color.

Cliente Amazon: Prismáticos ligeros, bien construidos y bien colimados. Tengo unos Olympus pro 8x42 y estoy encantado con ellos para pajareo, de lujo sin dejarse un riñón en otros premium, por eso me decidí a volver a probar unos pequeños de Olympus.
Estos son perfectos para llevar a todas partes, para ir de paseo y disfrutar de observaciones esporádicas en las que siempre echas en falta un prismático. Una calidad óptica que sorprende en esta gama de precios. No creo que nadie se arrepienta de comprarlos.

Cuel: Klein, leicht, hochwertig verarbeitet, gute Optik, absolut wasserdicht und Hitzebeständig. War im tropischen Regenwald bei sintflutartigen Regengüssen ebenso im Einsatz wie im Nebelwald und an der Karibikküste. Perfekt, um Vögel, Faultiere, Affen und alles, was sonst noch so in den Bäumen herumklettert, anzuschauen. Die Lichtstärke har mich positiv überrascht, auch Blickfeld und Vergrößerungsfaktor waren ideal für die Größe. Bin begeistert, für den Preis (gute 100 €) absolut empfehlenswert.
