Olive Oil Mister and Cooking Sprayer with Transparent, Food-Grade Glass Bottle - Non-Aerosol Dispensing

Happy: I love this oil sprayer when it's working. Every once in awhile (not often at all), it will stop spraying and i have to open it up and fiddle with it. I think the thing that "fixes" it is running my finger under the bottom of the piece that dangles down into the bottle. I also think it helps if you don't let the bottle get lower than 1/3 of the way full. I use mine in an unconventional way, because I restore vintage/antique cast iron and I use it to prevent flash rust during one step of the restoration process. So it is pretty annoying when it stops spraying because when I need to use it I NEED to have it work. In spite of this, I'd still rate it very high because for normal use where you just want to spray a pan for cooking, or use a spray of oil on your lettuce, that type of thing, I think it would be a good addition to your kitchen. If I was buying a new one, I might try the EVO sprayer instead, but this one is about half the price. I will note that I'm not using olive oil in my sprayer (I use canola for my purposes), and I've heard that olive oil clogs these misters more than other oils. If that's true then all bets are off- I don't know how it performs with olive oil in it.

Viv918Viv918: I have previously purchased 3 and now I’ve purchased a fourth one. I love these for all my different oils I use including avocado, vegetable, olive and sesame e oil. It sprays the perfect amount of oil and it cuts down on the fat and calories. My husband also loves it to spray on his outdoor cooking!

SHADOW: I bought another product that was sold in pairs. the first one didn't work at all and the second stopped working all together.

I bought this since the internet rated it highly. It dispenses product in a uniform light spray so I can control the amount of product. I bought this for popcorn and I'm going to buy another one for cooking spray. Don't waste your money on cheaper product.

el_nyc: Does exactly what it's supposed to do, simply and reliably.

I bought this product after giving up on the popular Misto sprayer because it differed from the Misto in two key ways: First, the spray is fine enough, but not so fine, like the Misto's, that the oil is worryingly aerosolized and just suspends in the air -- to be breathed in or settle on an open flame. Second, unlike the Misto, the air in the bottle isn't pressurized (if anything, the pump creates a slight vacuum); that was crucial, because I found that the constantly pressurized environment inside the Misto made olive oil go rancid very quickly (more air pressure means more oxygen available for peroxidation, which means faster rancidity).

Incidentally, some reviewers noted occasional jamming of the pump. I think what they were seeing was actually what happens when the intake tube sucks in air rather than oil (i.e. when the level is low and/or you've tilted it too much). The pump doesn't like air. It gets harder to pump so it feels like it's jammed, but if you just return it to a more upright position and pump a couple of times, it's fine. Keep the oil pretty full to avoid the issue altogether.

DTG: I’ve read a lot of these reviews. If you squeeze the trigger it is a great mister. You people that say it doesn’t mist need to hit the god dam gym or something. This is a perfect mist stream for a grilling application. Doesn’t mist? Gimme a break. Squeeze the dam trigger. It’s perfect. Buy it.
