J. M. Nelson: From before I started grade school until I graduated high school I carried a 10mm, 3 blade pocket knife. Great for jeans, bit heavy for slacks and suits, so with my first "non-jeans" job, I switched to the 7mm Old Timer. Learned to sharpen knives at age 5, kept them razor sharp, clean, and oiled. I used them until the blade was too worn to file down the kick enough to hide the blade inside the handle. Have 10mm knives going back to 1950s and 7mm knives going back to early 1960s. So long as I can carry a pocket knife, if available, it will be an Old Timer.
