Cindy DeJager: I am just beginning my plant- based eating journey and after reading her blog I decided to order her cookbook.
No regrets— I am thrilled to see so many recipes that are easy and convenient to prepare.

A. J. Cortez: My situation is a little different from the average reviewer, so what I have to say here won't apply to everyone but may be of use to others in my situation. I have multiple autoimmune diseases, plus fibro & chronic fatigue. This makes cooking very difficult, as the energy it takes to cook one dinner can put me in bed for days, not to mention the unbearable pain from standing. I'm constantly on the lookout for easy to prepare, healthy, preferably vegetarian or vegan recipes.
I don't know whose 'everyday' this is. Certainly not mine now but also this doesn't fit into my past everyday, when I was working a full time job and cooked to relax at the end of a day. Each recipe has a LOT of prep. If you're like me and prep all your ingredients before beginning to cook, the clean up is going to take extra time and energy, too.
But what really gets me is all the recipes requiring additional recipes as ingredients. I think if you do a lot of meal prep once a week this could work. My disability plus my husband's work schedule just don't allow for this.
I was initially going to give this cookbook 3 stars. Upon further reflection I give it 4 stars; it's not Ms Liddon's...

CC: This is a great cookbook. I'm not sure why people were disappointed as compared to her first one, but I have both and like them equally. I will say that there are not very many entrees relative to smoothies, desserts, etc., but don't have a problem getting the bulk of my entrees elsewhere. I really like how Angela uses whole foods and in this book how she says what you can make ahead/freeze/etc. I also like how you can download the nutrition info from her website. My only complaint would be the cheesy pictures of her and her family, but that seems to be a trend these days, so as long as your recipes are good (and hers are!), I can get over it. She doesn't require too many odd ingredients, but does call for brown rice syrup, spelt flour, Herbamare (though that's usually optional) and a few things that are not readily at every grocery store.
So far I’ve made:
Salted Chocolate Hemp Shake for Two - good
Green Tea Lime Pie Smoothie Bowl - delicious
Green-Orange Creamsicle Smoothie - really delicious, like a dessert
Pear Vanilla Mint Green Smoothie - not my fav
The Fastest Sprouted Steel-Cut Oatmeal - very good
PB&J Thumbprint Cookies - a little gummy, but...

Jump-up: I am very very happy with the speedy delivery of this book but more importantly, my goodness the cookbook is lovely. I started reading it last ngiht, when I couldnt sleep, and found it just delightful to get into the life and the recipes of the author. I have only got to the breakfast part, but the smoothies are mouthwatering and easy to make, with ingredients that are healthy and easy to obtain. The book itself has a very pleasing format, and is quite large for a cookbook, which I like, and lots and lots of photos that go with each recipe. I can hardly wait to read the rest of it and actually get started on the recipes. I did, in the past make a few of her recipes from the Oh She Glows online site that I have been getting for a while, and boy, was I happy with everything I made, so Im looking forward to really getting going on the Vegan style of preparing foods. I really want to say that this is such a nice, well thought out and authored book, its sort of exudes a calmness, and one can feel it as soon as you turn the pages.... and and the print is easy to read, and its very very informative too regarding different nuts, grains, pulses, and has tons of gluten free recipes. There...

Nancy: I pre-ordered this book since the Oh She Glows Cookbook was amazing (if you don't own it, buy it, it's absolutely fantastic). This second book, did not live up to expectations. There's too much junk and not enough good wholesome meals. I've made 15 things so far from throughout the book (not including homemade staples), and I'm running out of healthy things to make!
Apparently people on her blog were asking for a whole chapter on cookies, she delivered. The junk food section is by far the biggest section in the book. Between the dessert options for breakfast (there is literally a cookie in the breakfast section), the overly decadent smoothies, the chapter on cookies and bars, and the chapter on desserts, this book would be better advertised as a dessert book with a few meals thrown in.
Soups and sides make one small chapter as opposed to having their own chapter each.
The entree section was disappointing, it's so small!
The snack section surprised me, she opens with a comment on how she appreciates snacks so much more since she has a toddler, but the snacks are mostly crackers. I guess toddlers like crackers? And the one recipe that's definitely not a cracker I think...

Us: Angela has done it again! As a family that has recently gone to mostly plant-based eating, it's hard to just whip up a meal. OSG Every Day has lots of color photos to pique your interest. The recipes are well-written, and easy to follow. But most importantly, these recipes are something that I would actually make - NOT recipes to spend all day to create. They are realistic to cook after work, and the ingredients aren't "too weird", and can mostly be found at my local store.
