HMaxR3:
IWe are utterly disappointed. Quinoa is a staple in our home; we consume more than 6 pounds each month. This product is just unacceptable as food. No matter how we've cooked it (stovetop, rice cooker), whether washed or unwashed, no matter what ratio of water to quinoa seed, the result is clumpy sticky gooey glop. It is unappetizing and has little quinoa taste. Apparently it's no longer available from Amazon. Good riddance. The pail is nice, though, as a container, and after I dump the remaining 20 pounds or so, it may be useful in the garden.
Amazon is foolish to sell this product. We will sure go back to Anthony's organic.

A. GuyA. Guy:
After reading the reviews, I decided to do a four way cook off, 2 are boiled like pasta where one was rinsed for about 2 mins (until no more starch bubbles) the other soaked for 30 minutes both where added to boiling water for 15 minutes, then drained and rinsed for 30 seconds or so, both seemed to come out great. The other 2 was done similar to rice where one was rinsed for about 2 mins (until no more starch bubbles) the other soaked for 30 minutes, then added to boiling water, after reduce to simmer 15 minutes, then drained and rinsed for 30 seconds or so, both seemed to come out great. One of them I didn't rinse right away and it started to get sticky, I then rinsed it and looks the same. As far as taste, the boiled ones are not sticky where the simmered ones are a little sticky but taste more flavorful then boiled.
Hope this helps.

This Quinoa is harvested in a different part of the world. It does taste slightly different but not by much.
This is a excellent brand for taste, ease of cooking and versatility. More importantly, best bang for your buck I've found anywhere. (I eat this everyday.)
If you want the traditional quinoa, trader joes has them for very cheap as well. $4 per pound but still $1.50/pound more than this brand.
It seems a lot of people have trouble cooking this. It's simple. Follow this simple process for perfect quinoa every single time.
1 cup quinoa, 2 cups water. Set to 10(highest heat) Bring to a boil. Once it reaches boil(water is bubbling), lower temp to 2 (out of 10, almost lowest heat); leave it alone for 20-24 mins. Set a timer on your phone and leave it alone. Don't stir it, don't open the lid. Just leave it alone until your timer goes off.
Important note: You must use a lid to cover it or it will not cook properly.
I've been cooking quinoa every single day for over a year. It's a stable food in my diet.

Branden: Terrible for my digestion issues I have with rice being too sticky. I bought this as an alternative hoping it would be fluffy as I've had with other brands. The cost was great, but its clear no matter whether I rinse it multiple times, or put varying amounts of water the outcome doesnt change - mush. The smaller bag review page has more insight on this, but I've yet to see anyone figure out how to make this product not mushy/sticky.

Nico Mars: Quinoa is a daily staple at our house. Typically, I prepare it 'sous vide' style in quart Mason jars combined with onion, lentils & pasta. I cover the dry ingredients with a liquid comprised of cashews, nutritional yeast and water (blended). After cooking for 3 hours at 194 degrees, the quinoa is perfect....every time! I've also prepared quinoa by itself 'sous vide' style and it also comes out perfect as well. This is a quality product that's nutritionally complete, non-gmo and cost-friendly. I highly recommend it as part of a healthy diet.

Quinoa is good for you. It's quick to make, and tastes good, even without seasoning (this is admittedly, a personal opinion).
The problem is, around where I live it costs nearly $7.00 a pound in most grocery stores, and I can't afford that. This container is cheap (for the amount you're getting) and stores very easily. I'm thankful I found this.

Pump Artist: This is a really good deal. Compared to the price/ quantity at retail grocers you really can't beat it. It's the natural brown quinoa. What you get in the stores generally comes in white or multi. Having decided to go more natural with my food choices, it's been a good fit for me.

NR: best tasting quinoa. it is slightly sticky compared to white quinoa but tastes better. this is how i cook it... soak it for 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly in a mesh strainer, transfer to cooking vessel and add 1 cup water to 1 cup quinoa, once it comes to boil, cook in low flame until done.
