Barb: I bought this whistle for my 96 year old Mom so she could whistle when she needed help. It is small and slim and can easily hang around her neck under her shirt with no problem. I also have one for my girls' key chains and backpacks so they can summon help if needed. It is easy to blow and very loud. The silver color is classic.

Steve Byrd: First thing I did was let my elderly folks know I was going to blow it, so they covered their ears. I did not. It produced a loud, clear, shrill sound with very little effort--exactly what I wanted my daughter to have on her first BSA campout.
We haven't tested getting it dirty to see how it affects performance, but out of the box it's fantastic.

Jarvis Randall: I am glad it came a set of two. I can add one to my bug out bag and have the other one handy for my dog. I've trained my dog to return to me when he hears the whistle. One short blast, and he drops whatever he is doing and comes running. This is a handy device for getting your pet's attention in a hurry. Very easy to train an animal to respond to. Also works as a communication device for backing up a vehicle if you are going to be out of sight of the driver.
