Judith: I bought this book for my grandson, age seven because he is asking questions about God, Jesus and the Bible. His maturity and comprehension are far beyond his reading level. I just want to know what reading level this book was written for? I think the book is wonderful. But for now I will have to read it with him. And we can talk about it. Some day he will be able to read it on his own.
So, I am still on the hunt for something he can read on his own that is not a todler Bible.

Mrs Jennie Woode: We LOVE this Bible for our kids! We bought it as a gift for our 8yr old son, but my 6yr old daughter has one too. Written in simple language means they can both read with ease (both good readers) and understand it, but stays faithful to Biblical text.
The bright illustrations and word explanations are great too. Both of them have enjoyed having their own Bible and feel more confident to join in with family devotions etc. I'd definitely recommend as a first actual Bible for 6-11yr olds, but younger if you wanted to read to them first.
