Hub Douglas: The Nikon Z 50 was listed in the description as being sold by Amazon with a week delivery timeframe. Within three hours of placing the order, I received an email that the camera was shipped from a dealer in NYC with one day delivery. Can’t complain about that! But after reading the email more closely, I saw that it was listed as being’Used, like new’ condition with a one year dealer warranty. But the lenses were listed as being new. I rechecked the description and Nowhere was it listed as being a used or restored item, and it was being sold at the same price as other Z50 cameras, and nowhere was this dealer listed as being the seller.
So either the description was deceptive, or Amazon transferred it out to the dealer.
That being said, the camera arrived in a Nikon package with all required items, neatly packed except for the warranty card. If I hadn’t read the email listing it as being used, I wouldn’t have known the difference. The camera was in great shape, no scratches or blemishes, and works great. So was it a returned item, or just taken out of the box for a customer viewing, I don’t know. I’m pleased with the camera and will keep it, but I’m just upset...

Amazon Customer: I've been looking for a smaller go-anywhere camera as an alternative to my bigger full-frame DSLR. For me the field includes the Nikon Z50, Panasonic GX9, Fujifilm X-T30, and Olympus E-M5 (all comparable in size, resolution, and features). I would highly recommend the Z50 to any first-time mirrorless user. Its pros include:
+ Lens sharpness and image quality as good as or better than anything in the 20 megapixel range
+ Great handling and beautiful viewfinder
+ Lenses cover a big range with compact size and weight (definitely buy the kit with both lenses)
+ Absolutely fantastic value for money

I really, REALLY wanted the Z50 to work out for me but as an enthusiast I couldn't quite get over the lens selection. The two lenses in the kit are the only ones practical to use for at least a few years. There are no other Z DX lenses and the only one on the roadmap falls within the same range (no wide angle zoom or primes are planned). The Z50 has no in-body stabilization so other Z lenses won't benefit from stabilization, and using any other Nikon lens requires an adapter, increasing cost and bulk.

When the Nikon Z DX offering matures -- maybe with a Z70 that...

FastguitarsFastguitars: I own the Nikon z50 and the Canon EOS M6 V2.
Many of you will want to know which is best..
Let me talk about them briefly.
The Canon M6V2 is a more evolved camera series as its now many incarnations into the series. The M6V2, is the Flagship now, as it is taking the place of the M5.
Its a nice Camera. Its worth the money. Photos are excellent. The feel of the camera is excellent. The build quality, the AF, the EVF, are all excellent. The screen is very good. Its also a smaller and more compact camera then the Nikon Z50.
I find the photos, as compared to the Nikon, are nearly identical, with the Canon's offering slightly more resolution if you pixel peep. This is the effect of a 30+ Resolution sensor, vs, a 20+.
The only thing i dont like about the Canon M6V2, is that you can't manually adjust the sharpness of the images. You can't do this inside the camera. It will allow you to adjust the saturation, contrast, etc, but you can't adjust the sharpness.

The Nikon Z50 is a fast fun experience. The Jpeg IQ is awesome. The same style of tilting screen is slightly larger then the Canon's. The EVF is excellent. The Kit lens is very sharp. The body of the Nikon Z50...
