The NICREW Power VAC Plus Electric Gravel Cleaner is the perfect choice for aquarium owners who want to keep their tanks clean and healthy. This 3-in-1 aquarium vacuum cleaner is designed to provide maximum convenience and performance, making it one of the best Aquarium Gravel Cleaners on the market. The automatic cleaner features a sponge filter for easy cleaning and is suitable for both medium and large tanks. With its high-quality build and easy assembly, you can trust that your aquarium will be spotless in no time.Triple HTriple H: This is such a great gravel cleaner, but avoid using the included filters. Those filters will block the water flow almost immediately, constantly and or frequently. Instead, use the Fluval bio foam value pack filters. The black foam filter use on the bottom (change last frequent, last longer) and white or blue foam filter on top (higher filter flow, also needs to change more frequent). Both filters require minor modification, just cut them into a round circular shape like the filter housing. Works perfectly !!!

Rebecca Goddard: First time using it, worked for 2 minutes then cut out, now won’t even turn on. I cannot rate the product because it wasn’t on long enough.
I even watched the video before hand, I know I never did anything wrong, it looks like many people have the same issue
So sad I was really looking forward to using it. Back to the blowing down the pipe 🙁🙁🙁🙁
Hope I get a refund I only received it about 3 weeks ago.

Kindle Customer: I had a major problem with blue green algae growing on my gravel. This aquarium cleaner has solved that issue. I initially had a frustrating problem with the included filter plug clogging up way too quickly, usually within less than a minute of use. It was just too fine a filter. I corrected the problem by cutting a plug of a courser filter material and installing it on top of the included filter plug. Now I can clean my entire 100 gallon tank gravel floor in one go and clean up the filter plugs when I finish. No more running a syphon hose into a trashcan to the clean the gravel. I have not had a problem with cloudy return water from the cleaner I thought might be a problem. It even suck up dead plant material without difficulty. I am completely happy with it now. The manufacturer should include a courser prefilter plug with their unit. It would result in fewer frustrated customers.
It is now seven months later. The cleaner still works very well. I added a small plugs of the coarse filter material at the bottom of filter cartridge to keep the finer filter getting pushed down by the water pressure and blocking the outlet as the fine filter fills up. Also those white filter...

L. Macaro: I have been buying from Amazon for years. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review
I am over the moon about this vacuum!
I have an aquatic turtle, which also means I have a constantly dirty, rather large tank. I have struggled for years to find a practical and convenient way to keep it healthy. Finally I have an alternative to having to remove more water than I’d like to get the bulk of his mess out.
The suction is great! Remember, if your vacuum bag or canister is full your vacuum won’t function well - the same principle applies here. However, slipping the filter attachment off is a breeze and I easily cleaned it and went back to my business (or rather George‘s business, all over his tank).
After I removed the debris (keeping the water) all I had to do was switch out the filter for the hose attachment and take out the 1/3 of water recommended by my vet (repeatedly removing large amounts of water will strip a turts tank of beneficial bacteria). After replacing the water I reattached the filter the grab those bits and pieces that were knocked loose from hiding when I poured the new water in.
This functions so well and so easily I...

Ray: First issue it was not a 240 volt Australian plug supplied. Had to use a US power adopter. Then after 2 minutes unit cut out and would not work again. Possibly due to different voltage, but worried it might short out so have ordered another cleaner from another supplier. So a little disappointed with this purchase.

Philip Knowles: As I purchased this through an Australian site, I think it is fair to expect that it would be made clear that the product was electronically rated for the US. I went back to review the product after we received it and could not find it anywhere that it was rated 120 volts. In fairness to Amazon though, I was really pleased that they agreed to refund the product even though it had failed.

Rob: I normally use a Python to do my gravel/sand vacuuming when I do a water change. I bought this because I wanted a quicker/easier way to set up a gravel vac without taking water out of the tank. This electric gravel vac was the best solution for my set up. I needed something that I could just plug in without the need to set-up to a water outlet (Python). This is so I can gravel vac in between water changes on my 300 gallon aquarium (8'x2.5'x2').
I have large fish and large fish make large poop! Most of the poop just sits on the top the sand substrate in my tank. This not only makes the tank look unsightly, it also has a tendency to increase nitrates over time. Not good! So I use the NICREW power vac in between water changes and it works great!
This is how I got the NICREW power vac to work with sand and large poop. I don't use the sponge and filter pad that came with the device. If you use the pads it came with, it will clog really quickly and lower the suction power of the vac. So I swap it out with previously used filter floss from my tank filters and just throw it away when I'm done cleaning. The filter floss catches all the debris/fish poop and doesn't clog as...

Capn Gary: This is my second purchase of this product. It works well - although it does clog quickly.
The flaw is the suction control built into the handle makes the handle weak and easily broken. You tend to push down into the gravel and this area takes a lot of stress.
