V. McMenemy: The book arrive slightly damaged - the inside back cover of the book has a tear in it. Not sure how that happened. It wasn't packaged well at all either. The book was loose in a box. Why use a box?! The delivery person just chucked it on my porch...Anyway, it was too much of a hassle to return it to the US.
The book itself is great!

KickSaveDave: First, although you do not need to read the 2nd trilogy to enjoy Pharos Gate, you still should because it just feels right. I've owned the original G&S trilogy since it was first published, waiting patiently for each new book to be released. I then read the 2nd trilogy as they came out, again waiting patiently. It was only earlier this summer that I found Pharos Gate had been released, so I went back and re-read both trilogies in order then jammed through Pharos Gate. All I can say is, its an amazing addition to the story, adding detail and clarity but not changing the plot or story at all. I'm a 50 something year old man and I cried like a little kid when I read the last page. I'd give it 15 stars if i could. I've shared my love of all 7 books with everyone I know, and they all love them too.

Melanie's Reviews: I was very happy to hear, some 20+ years later, that there was another installment to this book series for all of those wondering if Griffin would ever get to meet his soul mate. I realize there is a second trilogy, but you do not need to read them to understand what happens in this book. This book provides a conclusion with the same characters we know and love or, in the case of Victor Frolatti, hate. A lot has changed since the original publication of the books, with e-mail, social media and blogging revealing people's inner thoughts more. I wondered if this book would still appeal to my inner voyeur with the postcards and letter correspondence. It did. I devoured the book in an hour. And while completely content with this ending, I would scarf up any more that came out. Thank you to Nick Bantock and Chronicle Books for allowing us to revisit these wonderful characters.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: After reading this unusual book I was fascinated by the story for it appeared to be the end so naturally I had to get the original 3......the 1st one 'Griffin and Sabine' published 25 years ago. Snooping into someones personal correspondence.....loved it. These books are works of art.

djm: It's hard to find fault with this book as I have been a big Nick Bantock fan from the beginning of the Griffin & Sabine series. The only thing that would have helped my understanding from the beginning (I had to look this up) would have been to tell the reader that "Pharos" literally means lighthouse and that the reference is to the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the famous wonders of the ancient world. Once I learned this a lot of the meaning of this book became much clearer for me.

Colonel of Marines: In the continuing saga of Griffin and Sabine, Pharos Gate is predictable in that it is as good as all of Nick Bantock's books. It is full of surprises and suspense as we watch to see if they will be prevented from meeting. In the end it leaves you hopeful as it attempts to describe the journey in so many of as we attempt to find our soulmate and learn to love and appreciate ourselves and our self-worth.
Pharos Gate is filled with more wonderful art and creative settings encouraging the reader to learn more about the world while entertaining us and allowing us to be lost in a fantasy world seemingly more real than our own. This is by no means a certain ending to the saga as we could hear from the pair again as they journey together and contact others to help unite the two worlds.
Overall, well worth the money spent and time to read. A great book!
