L CorL Cor: I don’t have a bunion but use these since the sides of my feet usually rub against the sides of the shoes. These inserts are comfortable and flexible. I was able to walk in my hells all day with these. They’re not too bulky and fit in my heels without being noticeable if I position them right. I am not sure if they make these in skin tones, but if they do, I am buying those as well.

ZM: Purchased for use with Ballet and Ukrainian dancing. As with many of the other reviewers, I found I had to tape it down so it would stay in place on my bunions. It absolutely does a great job of protecting the bunion, but wasn’t good to use for dancing. If you are just using it for walking about I would say go for it .. you won’t be sorry. Feels very nice and you can probably get quite a few wearings from one.

theogjb: these mute the pain from my bunions significantly, however they do not get rid of the pain. Still a couple of hours into the day I am in pain and need to take my expensive “comfortable” shoes off (you all know how it goes, the money down the drain, the long and fruitless search for shoes that don’t hurt), but still they do help significantly and my feet do not look like they were beaten by some sort of cruel instrument when I take my shoes off at night. The swelling has gone down somewhat but the sensitivity is still there. So, a fantastic purchase, especially for the price, but don’t expect it to miraculously take your pain away. Just expect a reasonable level of help. They are very soft and when you first put them on it’s like heaven. It just doesn’t last because all women’s office work shoes hit right on the bunion area and I am not allowed to wear more comfortable shoes. Business attire, you know.

Jennifer Jenkins: I had a sesamoidectomy last October, and I ended up with nerve damage along the scar on the side of my foot, just a little below my big toe. To protect the nerve, my doctor gave me some foam thingies that I had to trim to slip over my toe, and they would go flat in about 3 days, so I would have to keep putting new ones on. I got on here and searched for something similar but more durable, and this has been great in protecting that area of my foot and giving me good cushioning. My doctor was even impressed with it. Not surprisingly it easily gets sock lint on it, but it's easy to wipe off with just water. I wish I'd gotten this much sooner.

Synergy: I hadn’t worn my Giorgio Armani pumps for the last 5 years because the right foot hurt so much along the right side of my foot. I’m using this gel pad, and my foot is completely pain free!

UPDATE: While this item works well as I mentioned above, after a few wears, it no longer stays in place. It flops over the rim of the shoe, and I find myself constantly pushing it back down in place.

Kirsten Allen-Broyles: I am a marathon runner with chronic blisters near my bunions. I've tried EVERYTHING - double layer socks, wool socks, glide, you name it.... and these gels are fantastic! They have been the only thing that has kept me blister free. They stay in place nicely under my sock. They only time I had an issue, was on a very wet, rainy run... but then again.... what isn't going to struggle in those conditions. It still kept me blister free... but I had to buy another pair because my feet were sliding around in my shoes (my insole was wrong size) and so the gels broke. But I can handle that.
