Sherry Z: The sliding bolt and gate latch feels heavy duty. All the pieces were burr-free, straight, and fit together well. After installing on a wooden walk-through gate, the hardware looks great and functions perfectly. I'll try to update later if there is any issue with malfunction or rust.

Charles K Ogan: I bought these to latch sides of carryall in place.
They were easy to install and the finish has held up without wear or scratches so far. I predict they’ll do the job for a long time without significant rusting.

Selva: But badly designed: (i) the hook for the bolt comes with two square holes and two round head screws with head hardly covering the holes (ii) the bent in the hook is so close to the screw holes that one can't even use screws with larger heads (iii) the main body has 4 square holes but only 2 carriage bolts supplied (iv) the carriage bolts are 2.5" as opposed to 3" claimed in the product literature -- may be outdated? Now I've to supply my own bolts as my gate is thicker (v) it can be installed only on the outside as otherwise the nuts will be outside --- there is not enough space under the bar to put the nut inside. With a little care in design they could have given more space under the bar.
Expected more from National Hardware.
That said, its a sturdy little bolt that could do the job after some tweaking with the install. So I'm keeping it.
