Bay Area Jim: These hinges are the same heavy duty hinges you would purchase at the hardware store and they are less expensive. Only drawback is that the screws needed for installation are not included. I had some screws left over from the previous project so I thought I'd save a buck. Still had to make a hardware store run after deciding to add a third hinge on a very heavy gate.

Richard W. Sorden: I took a chance and bought this as a replacement for a defective hinge that was originally part of a Fiberon Homeselect White Composite Deck Railing Completer Gate Kit (Item #805731, Model #GATE FRAME KIT WH) sold at Lowe’s. It was a near perfect replacement - the only difference was the hole pattern on the post side (aka, the side with four holes). I will be buying more as spares. I love it when a plan comes together!

Senior Lady: Easy to install. Heavy duty. Self-closing. I would recommend. Con: No fasteners (screws?) received. Thanks to people who wrote a review I knew what size of screws to get from hardware store.

stephen parr: Only one hinge. Had to order 2. In the section that says “Included Components” it states “hinge, fasteners”. There were no screws or fasteners of any kind in the bag. Had to buy black screws of 2 different lengths on top of this. This was all very disappointing. However, the hinges are easy to install and 2 of these did the work of three flimsy ones that were previously used. Great for a heavy gate and quiet when opening and closing. I would recommend but buyer beware this is not a one and done buy, you will need to buy screws as well and remember, the price is for a single hinge.

Michael B.: These hinges seem strong but they were shipped with no fasteners (black screws) the description states fasteners. Now it’s a trip to the hardware to buy the screws. Other than that the hinges seem fine.
