Sandra E. Pallante: I got this microscope for my 8 year old grandson, and he loves it! The dual eyepieces makes it easier for younger users to view the slides. We also love that there are blank slides included for us to use with things we find.

chris: My six year-old nephew was thrilled to get this for Christmas. When I first purchased it I immediately had concerns that no six year-old would be happy to open a microscope on Christmas day ("Why didn't I just get him a car or something!?"), but he proved me wrong. It probably helps that his dad is a cardiologist and he's spent a lot of time in a real lab with 'real' microscopes, so I guess the lesson is just that you need to know your audience. Anyway, it's a good starter microscope and he was pretty blown away by it all. Seems to be solid construction and good quality for the price.

Amazon Customer: The microscope was a gift for my granddaughters 9th birthday. She loves it and it’s very easy for her to use. We love that she can put anything under the scope to look at it. Things don’t have to be prepared on a slide although she also has the necessary items to do this. Perfect gift for her curious mind. We enjoyed looking at sugar, salt and everyday things around the house and outdoors.

R. Williams: My kids are homeschoolers who love science. I wanted a microscope (light from below, traditional slides) and a stereoscope (light from above). This little scope does both. It's not a very high powered microscope, but for their age (11), it works well. They can look at prepared slides. But the best part is that each week, they get to pick 3D objects they want to examine. A dead hornet we found in the yard, a flower, etc. Using the stereoscope feature, they get a good magnification to examine the object. It's great for their age. I'm sure we'll need to buy a more substantial microscope in the coming years, but for now, this is a great tool for our science studies!
