Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers - Delicious Valentine Treats, 9 oz

Amazon Customer: When I was a kid, I remember Nabisco had cookies in small, square boxes made for one person. They were called Chocolate Snaps and I can taste them just thinking about it. They were the best cookies I ever had. Of course, they went poof at some point and these cookies were something of a substitute as the flavor was similar.

No more. I saw these and after not having them for years, treated myself to a box. They are ridiculously expensive now but I thought what the heck, it's a treat. Well, wow. Seems everything today has shot up in price and declined in quality to such a high degree. These cookies tasted like cardboar. Barely any flavor at all. Shame.

Pam Shaw: Love these wafers but they arrived crushed. I want to make a whipped cream cake but the are crumbs. I have not bothered to open the package. They are broken because of the way AMAZON put them in a bigger box with a dog bone and no packing.

Evelyn: I needed these for some Christmas cookies I was making and could not find them anywhere. So I did what I always do, I turned to Amazon. I found them but I thought they were a bit pricey. If I made the cookies once a week, I would never have bought them. Once a year, I can splurge. Since I turned them into crumbs for what I was making and I didn't use all the crumbs, I froze the leftover crumbs to use for this Christmas. Doing that, they aren't as pricey.

Scp: Love these wafers for baking & they are impossible to find in the Savannah area. But your shipment was expensive and the cookies arrived in pieces as the box that held them was just tossed into a mailing box without any packing padding. Very disappointing!

Sandra E. Chatelain: It's long time since I'd had these and they were not as sweet or thick as I remembered. I made and enjoyed a whipped cream refrigerator cake. If I hadn't had a wish to experience an old favorite, I never would have paid the price for a box of cookies I used to buy at the A & P (all year as I recall). All that being said, it would have been a lot more worthwhile if they had been properly packed. They came packed in with an Amazon order that was a heavier item. Instead of putting some fine bubble wrap around the delicate cookies and then putting them in with the heavy item, they just put the box of cookies in and some of the big plastic pillow-type bubbles. Half the chocolate wafers were broken. I was disappointed, but my 'craving' for a refrigerator cake was satisfied.
